Definition of an ignorant 90’s baby. Wasn’t easy to get known back then as it is now. There was actual levels to get your track on the radio. I was born later than the guy and i know this. Nore wasn’t on the level of biggie or pac but he still influenced the wave that got vince able to be collecting paychecks in the rap game. And i guarantee he wouldn’t talk that shit in front of nore face lmao too many of these thumb thugs. Props to nore for sonning this guy.

    • Dope

Exactly. We didn’t really have the Internet to jump start careers in the 90s. People were able to sell solid albums and not just singles.

      • Rivers

Correction cats in the 90’s sold whole albums off one or two singles.

    • Glomar

      Except he didn’t son him.

      • tuc88

He did by letting that baby whine until he shut up on his own…. bottom line not just the 90’s but the 80’s should receive credit for the golden era, nwa, slick rick, the list goes on. But bottom line new music is washed up lyrically and it aint got shit on the 90s. Who can you compare to tupac, bone thugs, biggie, soulja boy, young thug , or rich homie? f0h

    • pretty flacko

Bruh he never disrespected Nore and his influence, don’t get ya panties in a bunch.

      • (ง’̀-‘́)ง Cuh

Your dickriding on point in these comments that’s all ima give you. Props to you.

        • BL4QKB0X

Both y’all dickriding. Everybody here dickriding NORE or Vince, one the other. We’re all dickriders of something.

        • pretty flacko

Lol then you don’t know what dickriding is.

But props to you too for the hate.

      • Kaliban La

That nigga said he nice with the hands that fighting words I know you kids are use to talking wreckess but your talking to dudes that from the era of no net so no back peddling he’s going to have to back them words up now

    • Brandon Cummins KY859

u aint a shittin, the only way he would talk this shit to N.O.R.E.’s face is if there was a crowd and security around

    • Mack Daddy Dess.

Vince has a point. I was born in 1993. At 4,5,&6, Tribe, pharcyde, all the hip hop “greats” were the LAST thing on my mind. My first CD was legit Lil Romeos first album. I get they might have been good, but they act like we are responsible for researching 20+ years of hip hop, if we wanna be allowed to listen.

      • BLACK

I dont feel you should have to be responsible for researching 20+ years of hip-hop if your a fan, but if your an emcees you should.

        • Chris

You can’t make a statement saying you don’t know why 90’s artist get credit. It’s either you don’t know and shut up, or don’t make a ignorant statement. Biggie and Tupac were before their time, and dope but Nore, Hov, Wu, Snoop, Dre, Kurupt, Warren G, Wayne, Juve, aren’t from the 90’s? Nore is right, back then you had to have talent, not this mumbling into the mic garbage of today.

          • my niggaz

            Well said…

      • Kaliban La

So stay in your lane you missed good hip hop why are you young dudes so stressed out about 90’s hiphop them dudes did their numbers now try to do the same try to put up platinum first then talk shit

        • Mack Daddy Dess.

If you can say that, then you can say that the 90s niggas time has come and gone. It’s been 16 years since 1999. Why are they so stressed out and pressed over these new niggas? Why couldn’t they keep up? Why aren’t they selling platinum now if they’re so great? When was the last time NORE put out anything worth listening to? They need to stay in their lanes too.

          • Kaliban La

But the funny thing is 90,s niggaz moved music when it was no net to PR stunt on if vs is or was or trying to be as great as the ones before him stop crying and put some music worth listening to but that’s not the case because if it was me you wouldn’t be going back and forth now would we niggaz p.r stunt because them albums ain’t moving and they need the attention oldest trick in the book ✌✌✌✌

    • TimDerr

nore would shoot that fuck boi in the face if it was the 90s. Vince Staples aint shit yet and has no business talking about an era of hip hop sucking that he never lived through when he can’t even get his own shit off the ground. If Slim Jesus, Riff Raff, and Stitches are more popular then you then you are failing as a rapper

  • ITS ME

every aspect of this is stupid as fuck. silly women

  • NYCityKid

This nigga Vince gotta an arrogance to him. Nore seem like the type to know some real ignorant niggas that don’t play disrespect.

    • kobe

      LMAO

    • pretty flacko

      You mean an opinion?

      • freedaslaves

Opinion? He was straight talking doo doo

        • pretty flacko

Bruh opinions can be doo doo

    • Vince is a real nigga….I’m more than sure he can handle himself

    • BlackAchilles

Favorite rapper was lil bow wow I was done hearing that nigga at that point.

      • BL4QKB0X

Because Lil Bow Wow(not talking about grwon up Bow Wow) was not a largely successful hip hop artist then who WAS a KID making hip hop music that KIDS could actually get into?

  • Rhymeschemin

dude has to understand where this came from and the reason he gets to make this music in the first place. You can’t treat hip hop like “a nigga with a job” you gotta carry on that tradition. Saying Bow Wow made your favorite song and then wondering why NORE got me is fuckin retarded lol

  • kautious18

I hope vince Staples Is the one being credited for these “twitter fingers”—nore didn’t talk downor disrespect the worse era of music ever

  • The troll

Vince staples and tyler are trash thoo… jobody cares about them id listen to a nore track before id knock a vince or typer song

    • pretty flacko

Nigga that comment corny as fuck, everyone at 7 was doing some kid shit too don’t see what’s the problem

      • Chris

When I was 6 I copped my first bootleg tapes (yeah I’m old) of 36 chambers, Doggystyle and The Chronic and was bumping it on my Walkman, and mixing only my dads turntables. In Brownsville, hip hop and Dancehall were life. My four year old son to this day, hops on his iPad and tries to listen to “white iverson” on your tube. So nah, we all weren’t sucking thumbs at 7. Dude is corn ball and a internet thug,

        • BL4QKB0X

When I was 6 I was playing Sega Genesis, and I’m 24. Just saying childhood isn’t a one size fits all thing just because did something. I didn’t get into hip hop until 200 when I saw “The 6th Sense” video by Common, who is my all time favorite hip hop artist.

      • Smoothsupastar AskAboutme

          • Glomar

If anybody look ignorant its nore. Vince just said he only thinks the 90’s get the golden era stamp because of Pac/big. He never talked down and said it was overrated though.

          • CaptainNemo

It was a convo until Staples started talkin bout crips n old ass niggaz. After that Staples f’d up

          • Glomar

Vince never mentioned crips you boof ass nigga, I did. He ain’t mention old ass men until the end too. Nore is the one putting words in Vince’s mouth about how he said the 90’s was overrated. Reading comprehension nigga, do you have it.

          • CaptainNemo

Naw Im from 2N Crip and it wasn’t cool to listen to some Eastside shit back then speak the streets that you know

          • Chris

He pretty much did say the 99’s artist are overrated by saying only Biggie and Tupac mattered.

          • Anthony Duncan

cuz thats all the old heads talk about from the 90’s

          • Vince did bitch up quick for no reason tho, guess he got in touch with his inner Bow Wow

  • Raury 天

vince so fuckin lame he lost me when he said his favorite rapper was LIL BOW WOW and im a original 90s baby 1990 to be exact

  • Aye-Kay97

Est.1997….but will honestly say the 2000 got its standout moments but….90s is the golden age of everything…. And set the foundation for what is today….positives and negatives

  • AC

Lol juss like vince said he aint no damn hip hop head dis shit a job to him lol yall niggas on here gettin yall panties in a bunch

    • (ง’̀-‘́)ง Cuh

It’s sposed to be an art, not a job. That’s the problem. Wouldn’t have the “job” if them niggas aint pave the way for him.

    • freedaslaves

It should jus be a Job to him—-his music career not gonna take him too far–mite as well get a job at the post office–least he’ll have some benefits then

    • CaptainNemo

This aint Mcdonald s and even if it ws he’d still have to respect Mr Mcdonald otherwise he wouldnt have a job

  • Aaron Hernandez

your favorite rapper bow wow ?
    smh foh

  • Darian Myles

i love 90s music and i’m a 90s baby, but damn, it’s just a opinion. you dont have to like everything in hip hop. and if his fav rapper was lil bow wow, then good for him. that was his time, yall sensitive.

  • freedaslaves

This guy jus threatend nore lol. The funniest part of these tweets was–you a grown man, if u gotta problem call corey. I actually hope the next time i hear about Vince staples — it will be about him getting fucked up n robbed

  • mke g

im 20, born in 1995, younger than vince. i studied the greats who came before so i could understand hip hop 100%. hip hop is the only genres of music whrere the legends dont get any recognition. like your excuse cant be, ” i was seven when blablabla came out” if your a true hip hop fan or just an emcee in general you will do your research on the history of the culture. you cant be hip hop, if you dont know the routes. like cmon vince.

    • Deucy Turnt

      Right

    • Brandon Cummins KY859

exactly, u can guarantee that brand new young rock n roll bands know exactly who Lynard Skynard and other classic bands like them is

    • Malcolm Jones

I don’t get it I’m 33 and my hit was the hot boys nothing for a while then fab clue mix tapes then 50 cent

  • Glomar

Nore don’t want no problems with Vince. Vince got then crips lurkin.

    • CaptainNemo

      Lol

    • freshbatch

lol nore is a hip hop essential. He’ll be alright. NY got hhis back

      • Chris

Didn’t a whole crowd just beat the shit out of one dude for disrespecting Ghost face at a concert. Fans go hard for their artist, I’m sure Nore getting requests to body Vince as we speak. They probably even from Vince hometown. Smfh, ya’ll know this is true.

        • freshbatch

          these are facts

  • kvltwalter

I’m around the same age as Vince and Tyler. I never understood how “It’s old” is a valid reason to discredit a record. And am I an “old ass man” for loving Enter the Wu-Tang? Nope, I just heard a record from when I was an infant, disregarded when it was released and said “Damn, this is tight.”

  • Deucy Turnt

I was young in da 90’s but as a artist how can u say what u sayin about 90’s music? Thats the tru definition of a nigga that does not have a passion for being a rapper its just a check.

    • Brandon Cummins KY859

shit u aint even gotta be nice with your lyrics these days to be considered a rapper no more and u gotta do is walk around with a wedgie and do your best future imitation over autotune and a tight beat, shits fuckin rediculous

    • Mutton Arbuckle

I agree. fool said this was a job. fuck that, i don’t listen to nobody who has no heart for it.

  • Brandon Cummins KY859

Tyler Creator:”90’s rap does nothin for me” yeah we can tell it didnt do nothin for u cuz u still aint learned how to rap

  • Pell

Didn’t realize Vince was that arrogant. This is why I don’t have a Twitter. Its always annoying to find out a rapper you like is a lame or arrogant. I miss the days before social media. There was a mystery; so even if your favorite rapper was an asshole you didn’t know. lol

I am 25; so probably only a few years older than Vince; so I realize none of us can help what decade we grew up in. But if you aren’t going to investigate/research why the “90s” or insert any decade or artist you never listened to “gets credit” because it was before your time; then don’t speak on it.

Thats like me going up to Jesse Jackson; like “well I didn’t grow up in the 60’s, so I don’t get why it gets so much credit for advancing Black people”. You just sound dumb. Either educate yourself or stay quiet about things you didn’t experience.

  • DaBricks

First off this little nigga was throwing shade. He said “I hate you freestyling at the lunch table rappers” that should be every rapper how you love your craft and never practice it. And second the 90’s was the golden Era if you can’t relate just say that but don’t be disrespectful. Cause that’s what he did in a passive aggressive way. Bitch move

  • Joel Eugene Huff

The fuck I just read? I applaud N.O.R.E. for keeping his cool and explaining himself. But this silly little nigga Vince got no chill. And Tyler is coming outta nowhere with what?

    • BL4QKB0X

      Nigga Tyler was trolling

  • thatsjas2 .

Vince the type of dude u gotta beat down so he can hear you

  • would like to know what albums tyler had in mind when he made that statement

  • SenseiKief

Just Biggie & 2Pac??? What about Nas, Jay Z, The Whole Wu-Tang, Eminem, Andre 3000, Hot Boyz…the list goes on. Gadda know your history bruh.

    • Eric Harris

Nigga did you JUST say Andre 3000 and leave out Big Boi ?? Idk if you forgot or not but Outkast was a group effort, they wouldn’t be shit without each other

      • SenseiKief

You right my g. Yeah Outkast as a whole too. lol I’m just tripping on this Vince Staples dude. smh

  • Eric Harris

“BUT I do run fades” Vince a savage

    • Chris

      On the Internet…

  • Jaris Cole

I was gonna write something long but then decided that, like this Twitter back and forth, it is a waste of my time….

    #hopenoREALshotsgetfired

  • R.Tyler

Vince is cool and his music is one of the most hip-hop influenced sounds in the game today which is weird that he would say this. What about Jay-Z? what about Tribe? what about De La Soul? Busta Rhymes? Wu Tang? dude….Illmatic came out in the 90’s…

    • Mutton Arbuckle

mind you Vince was on Ali Shaheeds podacast and he says this silly shit. SMH.

  • Jordan Ortiz

So Vince talking shit but what about his pioneers e40 Mac dre brotha lynch spice 1 crooked I . just to name a few he is a closet rapper hates on legends in public but loves them deep down.

  • Eric Styles

  • Yung Black

Yo I’m in just total disbelief of the thangz I have read but sum of us need to see the bigger picture generations influence generations this generation of hip hop is different of course but as time move on we either lik it or we don’t an I’m not 2 much of a enormous fan but let’s bring sum positive messages back… Is that OK to ask of?

  • JusAnothaBrokeAzzNigga

I just lost a lot of respect for this nigga after sayin this shit if he not trollin

  • TopOfTheWorldPimpin

CAN SOME ONE LET VINCE BITCH ASS KNOW THAT JERMAINE DUPRI WROTE ALL OF THE BOW WOW ALBUM THAT HE LOVED SO MUCH… & YOU DON’T EVER HEAR PRO FOOTBALL OR BASKETBALL PLAYERS TALKIN BOUT “FUCK OLD SCHOOL NIGGAZ THEY AIN’T DO SHIT 4 ME” #SMH DAMN.. I HATE DISRESPECTFUL MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TopOfTheWorldPimpin

THE NIGGA SIAD BOW WOW HIS FAVORITE RAPPER… ROTFLMAO… HE WAS STAMPED LAME FROM THAT MOMENT FORWARD… #DumbIgnorantMotherfucker

  • Dre

Imagine a physicist saying Einstein, Oppenheimer, or Hawking were overrated. Or a doctor saying he doesn’t understand why James Parkinson or Ben Carson get so much credit. Or a programmer saying Babbage, Turing weren’t all that. A commenter said she’d understand if vince was just a fan. I cosign that. He is trying to make a career out of this. He should at least pay homage to the people that did it before him to even let there be a career in this art. I totally understand him not listening to them like I didn’t really listen to Beastie boys or Public enemy, but i still respect their contribution to the art. He said Bowwow is one of his favourite rappers. I guess Bowwow influenced him. Who does he think influenced Bowwow – 90’s rappers. And that’s how it works. His comments are disrespectful to every rapper out there. Because even if you weren’t around to listen to ’90s hip hop, your style, flow, etc. was influenced by someone who was influenced by a ’90s rapper – even if just a little bit. Oh and he said he didn’t say overrated – what does “The ’90s get a lot of credit—I don’t really know why,” mean? Somebody help me out

  • MacDre

See someone can not connect with the 90s hip hop or think bow wow is the best rapper. But you cant say the 90s are over rated and its only because of pac and big AND then say bow wow is the best rapper.

  • BL4QKB0X

In 1999 I was 7 years old and toy story 2 had just dropped you niggas really think I was worried about hip hop?

LMAO I can’t lie, I damn sure was 8 years old and was more into kids stuff than hip hop so I feel this tweet.

But as an Adult, the fact that I can listen to music of my birth years and vibe with a lot of it, from Tupac to Doug E Phresh, Public Enemy to Common Sense, Humpty to Phresh Prince, I can tell you while I like a lot of artists, I just can’t vibe with em like Future, them two dudes from Rocket Power, and pretty much any Drill rapper except probably Lil Durk and Lil Herb. Hip hop just ain’t about lyrics and artists no more. People like the beats and the names attached to the beat, even though that rapper ain’t even the producer of said beat.

  • mike

    Vince speaking facts nigga

  • ilikemusic.

If anyone has read or seen any of his interviews will know that Vince is the sarcasm king (Look up his interview talking about Ray J with Tyler or the Over/Under interview) His whole MO is to be a trolling ass dude that mocks what people take seriously in hip hop. Hence him coming up with odd future at first and growing up near them. He clowns shit all the time, and ya’ll giving him all this attention. He makes good music and gives no fucks who he offends. Don’t get offended people he’s actually really funny. I see by your guys comments about his Bow Wow line that nobody gets him He probably got pissed when he was just tryna be funny and got called out so an argument ensued.

  • Rockford Rockwelz Forbes

There would be no French Montana, no Maino without NORE. He gave NY that bounce. Gave Pharell that relevancy in hip hop music. No one’s expecting lil homey to know about NORE rushing the clubs with all Lefrak projects behind him. Wasn’t no Internet sensations you had to be known in the streets. Charlemagne give this kid donkey of the day please.

    • Mike Donovan

fuck outta here. South and west gave BOUNCE. Nore unlike most NY niggas is not a hater. He gives it up to anybody doing their thing so He took from some others as well.

  • Timothy Daniel

this nigga is like the sorriest nigga in the NBA callin jordan trash

  • Mike Donovan

I came up as a child when this music was new and im well versed. Vince is absolutely right about this. Its amazing that the 90s niggas get so cocky about the MUSIC portion of hip hop and rap when it was almost entirely borrowed and stolen. Except for the best shit i cant listen to it anymore either. 90s heads need poetry jam back because they only want BARZ. Great original music never has been a priority and thats why they should shut up and let these youth do them

  • Rivers

First of all I ‘m 39 and from the era. With that said IMO Jay-Z, EM, 50 and Kanye have way more influence over this generation. There are too many 90’s artist trying to get credit just cause they’re from NYC.

    • Mutton Arbuckle

Em came out in 92 to be exact, 50 made his first mixes in 98. They mighta made it big early 2000s but they started in the 90ties, this also means they were born off that shit. read anything about any of them cats. Em’s favorite MC is Pharoe Monch… 90ties cat. Even if you say they aint of that genertaion they got respect. Vince don’t.

      • Anthony Duncan

but how can he have a favorite from an era that he didnt listen to

        • Mutton Arbuckle

          Cause…..he lied.

      • Rivers

What Eminem song came out in 92, I’ll wait?

        • Mutton Arbuckle

he was battling. check the wiki

        • Mutton Arbuckle

Still waiting? An untitled white label with Soul Intent and Prof that came out in 95 actually. So I was wrong….. still in the 90ties though.

  • oskie

    Ben Fields this fuck boy!

  • Vince just lost some cool points with me. He ain’t even mention Nas or Jay two dudes still very respected in the game both 90’s veterans and let’s not forget about Common who featured YOU on his album. The nerve of this dude. SMH

Kids just don’t understand # Will Smith

  • EmceeChen

I don’t get this whole debate. vince never said that the 90s weren’t good, he just doesn’t understand wishing we could go back to it cuz we can’t and there’s good hip hop now too. people be flipping out over nothing.

  • I always got some real shit to say so I’ll say this. I’m not an old ass man. I lived through the 90’s and I liked Lil Bow Wow when he came out because I was 12 and my mom wasn’t letting bump Mobb Deep. My exposure to rap like everyone then was through the radio and mix tapes that floated and traveled around. Everyone from Will Smith aka The Fresh Prince to Vanilla Ice to Too Short and Outkast had to be on the radio and had to be dope! Whether you liked the artist or not you know they had skills. There was a level of respect that was due in my opinion. You may not like Vanilla Ice and he may not have done much record wise since he had one of the biggest hip hop records ever. He put in his work and wasn’t some bum ass scrub putting out shitty music you can’t understand. Nelly made me want to rap I can’t lie about that. When he dropped Country Grammer I knew every word and felt that if he could do it so can I. Then I got deep in my knowledge and said I want to keep doing it because of guys like Rakim, KRS, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, MC Shan and the list goes on and on. Without guys like that hip hop as you know it might not exist. Vince Staples might not have ever heard a lil bow wow and might not be a rapper today. One of my favorite MC’s Common who comes from that era since he dropped in 92 or 94 I believe that gave Vince Staples his biggest look to date putting him on a very important record that got him in truly in front of a mass audience. So to know where you are and where you going you have to understand where its been. Vince is mad arrogant in his statements like the 90’s seemed not to matter or that 2 pac and biggie was the only important rappers. I hope this lil nigga learn his history and people put him on to some true dopeness. It’s all about the 90’s.

  • Kymonte James

Anytime you say something and tyler the creator agrees with you..your saying the wrong shit.

  • Mutton Arbuckle

See and Im an older dude and i liked Vince. he had to ruin it by saying this. Nore was right, his ass would have no carrer if 90ties cats had not made it okay to be offbeat. This clown was on Ali Shaheed’s (Tribe Called Quest son) show and he can’t have no respect. This is far worse than that Bronson, Ghostface bullshit because even he said he was influenced. Tyler has always been and always be an assclown who can’t mess with guys in his own team so later for him.

  • Stanselus Woods

I lived through the Golden Era. Just from an artistic level it doesn’t surprise me these young guys can’t relate to ’90s hip hop. It was authentic and artists had different, distinctive styles. Everyone sounds the fucking same now and it’s so not impactive. .

  • Kaliban La

I’m from Los Angeles and this dude ain’t popin foo ain’t from la and nobody bumpin v.s js lil niggas stop it

  • Kaliban La

And this new vs old shit comes down to wack lazy dumb people making excuses for putting out trash music so they want to blame the golden era because of the bar that has been set and these flop house as rappers can’t surpass the greatness so you want to blame it on age tfoh because k.dot is a new school emcee and comes with good hip hop it a reason why he’s running hip hop right now so who the fucc is vs make good music and you won’t have to pull stunts like this because your music will speak for it’s self ……. fuckin shock value crash dummy

  • my niggaz
