While not as good as BBTM, Starboy was very very good, great album to listen to and multitask, slap on speakers or fuck to. Overall an 8/10 for me. Love the Weeknd. Well deserved opening

  • Kingquazy

The only thing Views has on Starboy is, there is more rapping on it. That aside, Starboy is the WAY better album. Starboy, Sidewalks, and Ordinary Life, son anything on Views.

Should have sold more! Same numbers as BBTM. Hopefully it ramps up and stays on top for a few weeks like BBTM did.

Two #1 albums in a row, though. Round of applause.

    • Herbz 4 Breakfast

Three #1’s if you include Take Care. That was basically a Weeknd album, rapping included. To me personally, I think Views is Drake’s worst album so far. If You’re Reading This was a far better album even though he claims it was a mixtape

      • FlyGuy23

Dude Take Care was not even weekend. Weekend prob had some weak flow to his bars that drake perfected and brought a rap flow to. Views is so diverse it’s like a duplicate of Take Care. People just hate on Views cuz drake been making hit songs next after next. Every song was in the billboard top 50. Every fckin song bruh. IYRTITL was just a flex of his rap flow that 6God flow. People first hated on IYRTITL now they give praise. Funny af

        • Herbz 4 Breakfast

What’s really funny is how you act like you know what you’re talking about. Maybe you didn’t get the memo but Weeknd was credited for 5 tracks on Take Care and he ghostwrote tracks for Drake on that album as well (meaning he didn’t get credit). Views was weak and barely even a rap album. More like a Rahsta Pop Album. You need to cut it. Lmao, 6God flow? Niggy, fuck Canada. Everything good that comes from Canada stays in America. Don’t you ever get it fucked up

          • FlyGuy23

He was credited for what he contributed to. Nigga didn’t ghostwrite shit he was just singing with drake and drake perfected shit tf. For what he did contribute to he was credited for. Still here, grammy, pop style, views, WESTON ROAD flows. 5 rap songs from views. All of them were hit songs and all in the top 50. Those rap songs are much better than 90% of the garbage you’re favorite rapper puts out. Drake had Controlla and hotline bling and it’s a Rahsta album now but he had 5 rap songs, let’s jst ignore that right and say it’s not a rap album. You need to go back to school buddy, since American schools ain’t working you should check Canada out. Can’t lie everything good does stay in America, but that is no excuse to deny talent, that sounds more like a hater.

          • Herbz 4 Breakfast

Canada sucks. I’ve lived there before. They be showing old ass shows on prime time tv. Like wtf? You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both, and then you have the facts of life…. You need to cut it. “Let me get a Canada Dry,” said no one ever. Drake don’t even cheer for the Raptors anymore and you come at me with Canada? Views was Drake’s worst album and I’ve even heard that from die hard members of the Bree-Hive. Whatever though, enjoy year round winter. You mother fucker

          • @zaloski

Where did you live in Canada? Where do you live now? So your telling me the points you brought up are the main reasons that you hate Canada? if so you have a narrow mind.

          • Herbz 4 Breakfast

Does it matter where I lived in Canada? It’s all the same. You the feds or nah? And I don’t hate Canada, now you’re assuming

          • FlyGuy23

You still didn’t reply to how I just mentioned 5 rap songs off views which u claim is not a rap album but a Rahsta album cuz jst has 2 songs like jst. Now you’re using Canada as an excuse to say the album wack. Idk wht members of wht dick hive u talked to but drake was flawless on views and that’s what people hate the album because there isn’t rly anything to hate on, the album pleases all types of audiences from rap, hip hop, pop, R&B to Rahsta b.s. the album is probably his best album where you can’t say shit about it like the way you are about weeknd helping on take care or Quentin miller etc on IYRTITL.. people using other excuses to hate like you mofo who come from Canada and have no success in America which is why you hate on a fellow Canadian who is making money out the ass and gaining fame. Only a Canadian would act the way you are lil nigga

          • Herbz 4 Breakfast

I didn’t realize I had a time limit to respond to your grace. Lmao. Canada sucks, and I wasn’t born in Canada therefore I’m not Canadian. Views should’ve won the Suspect Album of the year award. I realize that Drake’s scrotum is so far in your esophagus, it’s hard to understand reality. But Views was weak for a Drake album, and that’s saying alot. That was the most schizophrenic album of all time. Nigha ain’t know who he wanted to be or what sound he wanted, so he mixed it all up and made shit stew. Make no mistake, if you pull up on the block playing One Dance, you’re liable to get robbed. Nobody gets amped up for the club playing Drake. I’d die laughing if I pulled up to nigga riding solo listening to Hotline Bling

          • Askia ‘Ski’ Ahmad Smith

” If you pull up playing one dance, you liable to get robbed…I’d die laughing if I pulled up to a nigga riding solo listening to hotline bling” lolol Flyguy, you lost this round. Take that L and move on. Live to fight another day like craig daddy said….

          • FlyGuy23

Drake never gave up releasing hit records and hot music, I won’t give up defending true talent because it is well deserved and when he wins a Grammy for it, I’ll be the one having the last laugh.

          • FlyGuy23

U didn’t have a time limit you just need to respond when you debate on the topic at hand and not go off topic. You lived in Canada and seems like you hate Canada and anyone from it. Dude first u said it’s not and rap album and I named u 5 rap songs you’re just tripping and hating. If you go listen to take care, it’s the same thing, mix of rap, hip hop, pop all of that and that is why people loved take care, well people who know music, becuz it was different, not people like you who want the artist doing what you prefer if I pull up on the block playing one dance I’m gnna get robbed is the stupidest shit i ever heard because music like that don’t define you as a gangsta, you’re just living in a fantasy world. Pull up to the hood with drake on and I bet you niggas will bop their head foh u never been to the hood maybe that’s why u saying that lil nigga. U just said nobody gets amped to hear drake in the club but I bet you got videos of yourself in the club bumping to back to back, energy, worst behavior, Drake is club music, he is everything music and youre just hating on his talent bruh. That nigga you gonna pull up next to in the hood playing hotline bling prob got the baddest bitch in the hood singing along and grabbing his dick, while you got your w.e b.s music u consider hood playing with a pizza box on ur passenger side, you ain’t going nowhere while that other nigga going inside that pussy. Hold that L

          • Herbz 4 Breakfast

I have never, in my life, seen anybody dick ride to this extent. It’s Ri-got-damn-diculous. This level of band wagonery has never existed & it leaves me befuddled. You worship Drake. Fuck Kendrick & J. Cole, somebody turn on Controlla. Matter of fact you must’ve wrote the hook for Controlla. And you mad cause I’m telling you your butt buddy ain’t shit. Fuck Canada, Fuck Drake, Fuck The Bree-Hive, Fuck Donald Trump, Fuck Hitler, & last but not least Fuck FlyGuy23✌

          • FlyGuy23

            Fuck you too nigga

        • Kingquazy

Views was Maple Syrup sweet bruh.

      • BrodieThaGod

Yeah, like half the songs on Take Care were supposed to be on Weeknds album even though I do think Drake added his own special touch to them. As much as I liked Views, it definitely could’ve had more rap on it. IYRTITL is probably my favorite project.

      • @zaloski

The Weeknd helped him on the take care. He even thanks him in the album but Drake did his thing on there. The Weeknd helped him on his hooks and maybe on some lines but thats about it and a lot of it was opinions on beats. I think he was only on like 5 songs. That is hardly the whole album. There are so many artists out there that contribute to other Artists album. Kanye is known to do this a lot, he did it with cudders and Travis Scott.

        • FlyGuy23

          Thank you

          • Herbz 4 Breakfast

You act like the type of nigga listens to Frank Ocean

          • FlyGuy23

Never heard a song of his tbh, now suck a dick

          • Herbz 4 Breakfast

What straight man tells another straight man to go suck a dick. Smh, millennials

        • Herbz 4 Breakfast

Contribution and Creation are two different things though. If somebody writes an entire song for you, did they create it or contribute? And Kanye’s last two albums were terrible in my opinion so please use another reference. Based off what you said, I need to assassinate Travis Scott & Kid Cudi… Making that garbage on Yeezus & TLOP

          • @zaloski

So you know for a fact that The Weeknd wrote entire songs on Drakes album? My reference was to show you that cudders and travis had huge roles in contributing to kanye past albums. I did not mention if the albums were good or not. If you didn’t like them that’s on you. Anyways Cudders was all over 808 & heartbreaks. Another reference is James blake’s Album “the colour in anything”. Frank Ocean helped him make the whole album. Again just another reference. Your probably gonna bash their music too?

  • SloanTheDon

    But he isn’t a rapper

  • Joshua Spurgeon

I knew Starboy would be successful but I wasn’t expecting these numbers. This boy is predicted to do better than Views and Lemonade. Congrats and much love to The Weeknd. He definitely deserves the success.

  • Randall

i miss The old Weeknd this new rock/pop Weeknd weak

    • Herbz 4 Breakfast

When you get to a certain level of dominance in the music biz, people try to change you. It seems like Weeknd has let them change him. Proof is the Starboy video. In the video he kills his old self then destroys his own apartment/condo with an inverted cross. No need to reach when it’s crystal clear

    • BrodieThaGod

Almost every artists branches out and trys some other type of shit at some point. I don’t feel this album near as much as his first but it’s still alright. Hopefully he gets back to his old vibe tho

  • Herbz 4 Breakfast

Because of course no rapper has made it to twenty years in the game. Lol, so Snoop Dogg don’t exist? Twista? Jay-Z? E-40? Bun B? It’s lots of rappers who are still relevant and putting out material. You my friend, know not what you talk about. Then The Weeknd is a singer not a rapper, he has minimal competition in the R&B field. Like who else is close? Besides Roy Woods, Ty Dolla Sign, Bryson Tiller, and D.R.A.M. he has no comp… Oh and if you’re in Vegas…. Blogging…. Your life sucks

  • tommyfilmore47

Still can’t get with this dudes shit. Too many fillers. I fuck wit like 3-4 of his old songs n that’s it. Ovo fans fall back just stating my opinion.

  • 1h45h

This album is way better than the last one. Totally listening to it.

  • tonedup1

I dont thnk The Weeknd let anything change him. His biggest thing is to be a master at what he does. He even said he wants to be huge and dominate every aspect of his music. Triliogy was waking people up. Kissland was his mainstream dark side. BBTM was dark but more regular rb/little pop. Now we got to Starboy which has transitioned almost completely to a pop and R/B. Each album has been him experimenting and expanding his range. I mean when dude says his biggest influence in music is Michael Jackson, what can you expect?

  • @zaloski

The Weeknd still doing his thing! I love seeing his evolution! What is good about the Weeknd is that he tries new things! at the same time your always going to hear classic weeknd. The Album is fire
