For the Second Time, Future Fans Clear Out Of Arena Before Kendrick Lamar Performs

I was at the Chicago one and yeah everyone went crazy when Future performed especially during Commas, after Future left the majority of the crowd was still there but the energy was definitely not the same. Kendrick did get the crowd going also.

  • ilikemusic.

It’s definitely hard to follow the energy of a Future performance. Especially with the scope of Lamar’s last album. Future should’ve probably ended the show, but I was literally just commenting about this on another article. It’s sad to see that people don’t have enough appreciation of all types of hip hop because To Pimp A Butterfly for what it was, was a masterpiece. Nobody respects the artistry anymore though and if the beat isn’t a trap beat they don’t understand the performance value. I watched Kendrick’s performance and the one from the Kennedy Honors Center. His passion with the full band shows in his performance but people don’t want to take the time to listen. Definitely a sign of the times.

    • WhoIsMeekMill?

just because people want to wild out on a saturday doesn’t mean people dont like kendrick. They just aren’t trying to hear about black on black crime at 1am on a saturday

      • Mr smh

Def not the only thing he talk about smh

      • Kennedy Junnell Yarber

Yea cause they probably guilty of alot of what Kendrick is trying to bring attention too

yeah all Future fans must be racist criminals, seems legit
I bet all Kendrick fans are just the definition of equality preaching, all loving human beings….

And they are very respectful of Taylor Swift’s white fragility. :S

          facts

        • Yama

Yeah and some were probably well on their way to cop some skittles & sprite from from their local corner store for some codeine cups.

      • damian harrell

The other rappers at Chicago show (Lil Durk, Rae Sremmurd, Meek, rapped about committing or taking part in black on black crime so that doesn’t quite make sense

        • Max

          who is meek?

          • meek milly

            Ur mama

          • Tormenta

It’s a thing that is week and small, probably inadequate

      • C.J. Dixon

        Amen bro.

      • daly

        Are you listening to yourself?

      • ilikemusic.

I mean I guess his couple songs regarding black on black crime would’ve filled an entire set………not like he would’ve played anything from his other classic album GKMC. Which idk about you but everytime I hear backseat freestyle or Maad City I get hype af. Alright is a banger. King Kunta and Hood Politics fucking ride. You’re right though.

    • Unfuck the World

I completely agree 100% man. Its a let down but surely a sign of the times…The same reason why folks like Young Thug and Chief Keef. It’s confusing. But these guys make party music…So when there’s a party, they seem to fit the sequence better.

      • grape_rello

and majority of people like to party so put two and two together . I definitely don’t cosign their music but its facts

    • Ratchet God Rep That Cap Life

Not really. Being a 80’s baby i realize when music has a place. If im chillin and want to listen to music lyrics i got kendrick on in the headphones but not blasting it, but when im in the club drunk or high and want to turn up or u in the whip and want whip music then its future(insert any south artist with trap beats).i realize when it comes to turning up you have a time and a place for everything. That why jayz survived the times cuz compared to Nas jay can always give u something to ball out into the clubs.

      • Darrell I. Warren

I see what you’re saying man, but going to a show is not a club at all. Completely different area

        • K.d. RealMusician Bellamy

          Word

      • Dom Susana

what dude? if u can’t turn up to some fugees or some dead prez u shouldn’t consider urself a hip hop fan period.

        • Billy Armstrong

I cannot and I’m a fan of fugees yea bt no dead pres

      • Hiphopds

Of course Nas realized the culture of the people dont want too much knowledge or higher level music cuz they dont listen. They want to hear about lust in the clubs of course and dudes wanna hear about how aint no other click tougher and females wanna hear how they the baddest in the club. Stuff that dont matter and is irrelevant.

      • UdonNo

Well thats WHAT EARLY NY RAP was about, a mix of lyrics and beats that you could dance to at the club. Public Enemy used to rock the clubs just as well as De La SOul. Now there is a separation between lyrical artists like kendrick and trap rappers like Future. Why cant some one effectively combine both style anymore?

    • Alfonso SmallishtoaGiant Brown

I agree except I would venture to say that it’s the youth who are missing the performance value because there is no value in substance anymore. Everything is instant. No desire to work for gain anymore. I mean, why actually listen to some productive words when you can jump around to a flashy beat, get drunk or high and act stupid with people you think are your friends. I mean ain’t that what the “hip hop” movement is about these days. They definitely ain’t talking about self destruction like when I was coming up. JS

      • ilikemusic.

        Very well said. Truth

    • Ye’

Butterfly was definitely not a masterpiece in any shape or form his first album was a masterpiece

      • Wiiid3YesFL0

Your smoking crack or your a future fan that shit was cold af

        • Keith.jernigan

Hell yeah. Butterfly was a f*ckin masterpiece. Just as much as section.80 and good kid m.a.a.d city

          • john blumeraitis

No. Simply no. Liquid Swords was a fucking masterpiece. Kendrick made a good album, but a masterpiece?? Got to be kidding.

          • MysteryMeat

            dont.do.that.

          • john blumeraitis

            Don’t do what?

          • MysteryMeat

compare Kdot to liquid swords. Like, two different pieces of work; both masterpieces

            Its okay… its okay

          • ilikemusic.

            Facts

        • daly

          Ye is on crakkk.

      • Jaay Uss Blizz

TPAB is a whole classic, based off content & lyrical prowless

        • ilikemusic.

Real shit. Nobody has formed an album that way in a ong time. The flow and structure of it is beyond comprehension of certain hip hop fans….ahem. Plus it connects songs to his other albums and keeps his narrative rolling. Too much for the basic hip hop fan who can listen to two songs on a future cd that have nothing to do with each other sonically or lyrically.

      • Nick pearson

I been saying this for awhile people think I’m crazy

    • ポケモントレーナー

They went out to enjoy themselves not to listen about political shit

      • daly

Are you listening to yourself? Like, seriously?

      • deevahbaby

Sooooo what you’re basically saying is you don’t know who Kendrick Lamar is. “Political shit”? Name one political song. Get your ass tf outta here!

        • Brandon Cummins KY859

          haha

      • ilikemusic.

        LOLOL

    • Justin

If I just listened to a set from Future, my mood and mindset are not going to want to listen to conscious rap immediately after. I’m sure many people that left after Future appreciate Kendrick, but not after they all got turnt on Future’s music and whatever substances they may have consumed before the show lmao. There’s a time and a place for both, and the time for conscious rap is not right after you listened to one of the most banger sets you’ll ever see.

      • Dom Susana

listen to the underachievers, u might rethink what type of vibe conscious rap is capable of. it solely depends on the individuals mindframe

        • Justin

i’m not saying conscious rap only has one vibe, and The Underachievers are amazing in my opinion. Capital Steez is conscious rap with another different “vibe”, i’m only speaking in context of the show and why fans left.

    • TMan

      Rap is gay.

    • Delando Fuentes

I told alot of ppl about kendrick before he blew up so i love him as a artist but i cant even listen to his new cd cuz the beats are so horrifying! Lyrics are always on point but ppl can’t turnup to lyrics at a show

      • ilikemusic.

Me too, but the thing is he made this album completely off of live instrumentation. The reason they aren’t turn-up beats in your opinion is because nowadays your hear computerized bangers. These sounds are amazing and flow perfectly with the nature and lyrics of the album. The upbeat positive songs have funky feel good beats (King Kunta, Alright, I) The darker songs have grittier beats (U, Blacker the Berry) It’s not for everyone but man if you’ve been a fan since day one and can’t appreciate the project then so be it. It ties so many loose ends together though from his previous projects, and I like the west coast sound he’s rejuvenated. He said if the world was a happy place the album would’ve sounded happier and more upbeat, but at the time of recording this is what he thought the world needed to hear. I guess you’ll just have to wait for the next project.

        • Delando Fuentes

He’s the new version of Nas. Nas is my favorite rapper of alltime but his beat selection most of the time had me ready to go crazy. Im a lyrical person too but when u play something with whack beats it gets played out and tiring really fast.

          • ilikemusic.

Good point. I think I’m just weird. My boy loves the album but only played it thru like 5 times since it’s release. He said the same thing as you. Me personally when I heard he was going with live instrument beats I pictured a sound similar to this. I love the beats for the most part. I also really like disc 2 of Documentary 2 for that same reason. The funky west coast sound. It’s a much needed break from hearing mustard on the beat hoe. Or MIKE WILL MAADEEE IT lol

          • Delando Fuentes

Lol..Yea mustard’s on most of the new westcoast stuff

    • Steve Fells

Future stage show is so garbadge at the Made in america concert in philly half the crowd left after a couple songs to go see another stage. It was 5 stages there and they made sure it was less popular people when he performed. I went to watch a rock act I never heard of. Future stage show suxx

    • 2 dope artist, 2 different moods. Can’t put usher behind Future, niggas gonna leave.

    • So true. I wonder what my son will be listening to when he gets older in his generation? This type of artistry in music is falling by the wayside…real quick. Smh

      • ilikemusic.

I think about that all the time. Hopefully it will get better soon and this wave of horrible music will slowly fade away. Something tells me though that the way the drug culture is shaping America’s youth that shitty music is gonna last longer than we hope

    • Derrick DeLosSantos

I definitely agree with you & hope people come to realize who the real artists are out there. Check me out sometime ↑↑↑

  • sosarozay300

futures music and fans are trash so it doesnt matter

    • $B

It also makes you want to move and have a good time. It’s an energy and emotion few can bring.

    • J esu save S

Future lost my respect after FBG

  • mack

Man dont nobody wanna hear that bulsshit kendrick rap about. The problem is everybody hyped him up to be the next best thing an then he hit us with that bullshit album after spitting a hot verse on big sean song im thinking he about to spit on the whole album instead he comes with some bullshit about shit we already know is going on in the world ,been going on an will continue to go on

    • Dom Brown

open your mind. you as an individual or witness or victim may know but not everyone knows. Kendrick has white fans and there are white ppl that don’t see the difference with the white and black culture and how no one’s is treated equally it was an amazing album not my cup of tea for a party but definitely worth listening to. DS2 ain’t no classic like Kendrick shit that’s facts a lot of future fans disagree cause they let being a fan get in the way of the truth. and neither is WATTBA. it’s not a turn up album but a great album it’s definitely the generation because back in the day artists wit his style would still keep the crowd rocking our generation just loves to party and doesn’t appreciate art the same

      • mack

It has nothing to do with black or white. The album was trash. Future is not lyrical rapper at all he makes good music though. Thats why i like future. I listen to ppl who spit lyrics, i watch the battles i also watch cyphers so i know lyrics when i hear them. The shit was just trash. The first album classic

        • Dom Brown

I’m sorry maybe I wasn’t clear on the black and white part but thats his reason for spreading the msg in his music. Also if you know future isn’t lyrical you watch cypher and know good lyrics when you hear them why do you listen to future? for the beat? a good beat doesn’t mean a good song it’s simply a good beat which is majority of what future is good for even though all his beats sound the same

          • mack

I listen to future for his beats , an for the stuff he talks about. U have rappers that make good music that are lyrical an the u have the ones the make good music that are not future’s one of those thats not lyrical but the music sounds good

          • Dom Brown

gotcha. I mean in the end it’s all about preference. hiphop is storytelling what you can relate to. the trap music is good for turn up and ppl that live the lifestyle in the music or been through similar events. I personally don’t understand future in every song sounds like hes mumbling a lot so he’s not on my playlist everyday. I listen to future for parties and when I dance or I’m drunk lol. I wouldn’t go as far as to say kendrick album is trash I had to listen to it twice before I was actually like this is a great album. just cause I like to feel my music and have an understanding

          • mack

I only listened to it once cause my expectations was so high as far as it being lyrical an him spitting. Logic coming up though hope he spittin like he do in the freestyles

          • Dom Brown

Ya same here then I just took the time to really sit and listen. Logic is dope he’s been around for a minute just taking awhile for him to really go to the next level as far as exposure

        • Mikey

@disqus_rHNUXLfsT8:disqus dude, check your last post & do me a favor? Delete your account and never post again cause you said the most contradicting and stupidest shit.

          • mack

Nothing i said is contradicting. At the end of the day i educate myself do u ? At the end of the day nobody wants to hear politics coming through the speakers

          • Rahme’el El Bey

To say no one wants to hear “politics coming through the speaker” shows glaring ignorance. What has happened is that you have been dumbed down to think that statement makes sense at all. X-Clan, Public Enemy, Tupac, Ice Cube, Erik B & Rakim, KRS ONE all spit political information that would help to uplift us as a people. Now you have a generation of children and young adults who have be competey indoctrinated into thinking that speaking in complete sentences is dumb. Music has served the same purpose since it’s conception. It is a vibration that is suppose to raise the consciousness of the people. Because that is a FACT it has be co-opted and now is being used to cause brain damage. Which is why statements like yours are made at all. I have never listened to Future. So I have no comment on his music. However, K Dot last album is a master piece. He spoke to our struggle and the struggle of all people. How many times do you need to hear shake that ass and give me some head. Or pop this pill. Are music about realities that you will NEVER experience. More than likely you will NEVER have the experiences that come across your speakers. Which is new to music, which this garbage ya’ll listen to should never be called. It’s straight trash and causes brain malfunctions.

        • AT

You should go listen to the The Jig is Up. People were calling his first album trash. I ain’t really bumpin the new like the last album but you can’t call it trash. Trash is like the weak ass shit you be doing haha

          • mack

Hell yeah let me tell u lol.

    • Oatmealman

      You a bitch

      • mack

But i would still fuck your bitch in your bed an youll kiss her after

          • Flyboii

Future also raps about shit you already do doesnt he? Its not even about words cause you prolly sont care what future saying you like that beat and the way that nigga mumbling haha

          • Flyboii

You acting like kendrick trash, what does future talk about thats so much better?

          • Kid Flex

You just replied to yourself… Wtf

          • Yemil Velez

            Nothing, he mumbles

          • mack

Yeah he do like stick talk is a prime example im well established nigga an i just fucked my money up on a new toy. Thought it was a drought i strap that dope to ya spouse put some free bandz in her account an told that bitch not to run her mouth. Oh an me an my ol lady have rich sexy AP’s on an all. Bro what u gail to realize or what u dont know is u talkin to a music head. Im from Atlanta half these niggas aint lyrical at all. Thats why i grew up listening to other niggas

          • AT

You should have grown up learning to read and write lmao Why you talking about fucking his bitch and then him kissing her bro that’s as gay as Young Thug.

          • mack

Damn niggas is dumb nothing i said was gay. U probably gay yourself.

          • AT

“But i would still fuck your bitch in your bed an youll kiss her after” -Mack That shit sounds kinda gay dawg why would you even say some shit like that.

          • C80209

^^^ this dude looks up and can barely see TPAB shits so far over his head. comeback only added a bed XD

          • mack

The album is trash period say what u want if u can spit then spit.

    • dawill_sama

And what exactly is Future talking about?

      • AT

Getting fucked up and dumb bitches lmao

    • herpa_derp

Kendrick rap about how nigga senselessly kill each other, and Future rap about senseless killing niggas and drink lean. Make sense.

      • mack

Ok yeah thats what he rsp about but at the end of the day nobody wants to hear that coming throught the stereo

        • JustKeepinIt

Through the stereo is the best way it’s not like he can sit down and talk to everybody in this world individually honey yuh a have a misconception on MUSIC and Wat it means music is telling a story influenced with tunes, rhythm, and rhymes only waiting for a ear to listen to reach out and touch someone’s spirit MUSIC is knowledge the only thing I learn from future is to how to make drugs sale them use them and fuck …….future was a love searching ass nigga after RHQ came out is when he wanted to be in the trap and I guess be bout dat life

          • mack

I will not reply to no more of your messages cause u dont know what your talking about future been talking about the shit he talk about forever RHQ will never be as hot as future or sale what future sold period. An his music dont teach u how to make nor does it teach u how to sale drugs. End of convo smh

          • JustKeepinIt

Man he was searching for bitches wit a flash light and going to the moon spazzing and shyt sounds like he has a drug problem to me but keep on I’m gone pay for bth of yuh bitches to go to rehab don’t be mad and I wasn’t comparing him to Rhq I was pointing out when he wanted to start acting hard after #Competition was coming fr his ass

    • Mikey

This might have been the stupidest comment of this whole post. Holy shit, you literally talk out of your ass. Let me know how teaching kids about trap compared to talking about social issues is better?? Ill be waiting man. smh. “True” future fans that say shit like this ^ never graduated high school, don’t got no job, most likely on IG posting about ‘Getting this $” & probably have a tattoo on their face.

      • Cali215grower

I agree with most of that, but” don’t got no job” mean they have a job. Double negatives.

      • mack

U sound like u know me when u dont i can get political with u to. Half the shit they teach us in school os a lie. Lets see what u actually know. What u picked up a book an read yourself about our black leaders or about leaders period i read books on all this shit kendrick is talking about i educate myself to find out whats true about what we was brought up to believe an whats not.

        • kautious18

          No u don’t

          • mack

Your right i dont lol u live with me lol

    • Niall

You’re saying we already know about what Kendrick is talking about, but do we not already know all we will ever need to know about turning up, or expensive cars and all the bitches in the club?
I live in Ireland and Kendrick has only ever done one show here, which was excellent, so I can’t have respect for anyone that tells me future is better than kdot.

      • mack

I never said he is better i said the album was trash. I also said futures not lyrical an kendrick is. I also said its 2 different type of rappers read the post first

        • Niall

But you did say nobody wants to hear what Kendrick is saying. Why do we still want to hear the same thing from future that we heard from Dre back in the day or nearly every other rapper that hit the charts over the last decade or so. If Kendrick just went in all the time like on Control, it wouldn’t be as interesting an album.
From saying the album is trash, that implies the same about the artist. As does saying no one want to hear what he’s saying, implies futures subject matter and delivery is better.
Also before anyone says anything, I’m not slating Dre or comparing future to him but all that type of subject matter has been done and perfected. We don’t need another poor rapper trying to do the same but doing it terribly

          • mack

Doesn’t mean his subject better what im saying is ppl wanna hear music that makes them move now a days. The game has changed

    • lakersnation86

Really bro how can you negate what Kendrick talks about like what future talking about is not the same old lame as I’m a trap boy lifestyle shit?! I actually listen to both but if I had to choose one it wouldn’t be the mumbler! I bet you don’t watch the news or any type of current events because you’re always in turn up mode! This generation is not about anything more than party, party, party!

      • mack

Again i educate myself. I bet u watch the news an believe everything they tell u right ? Right lol. An ill say this once again i never said future was better. I also said kendrick is a better lyricist. Fact is he did not spit on that album an thats what i wanted to hear thats what he was hyped up to be a spitter. Especially after the big sean song

        • cjblank

He spit all the way through “For Free?”, all of “King Kunta”, all of “u”, all of “Alright”, all of “Hood Politics”, all of “The Blacker the Berry”, and the 2nd verse and the outro to “Momma”. He goes hardest in “For Free?”, “Hood Politics”, and “The Blacker the Berry”. Kendrick is without a doubt the King of hip-hop because he could 100 songs that can get people goin like “M.a.a.d City” and “Backseat Freestyle”, but he doesn’t. He makes music that pays homage to the black culture through funk, jazz and soul like he did on TPAB.

          • mack

King of hip hop ? Woah ? Ill take Jay any day

    • Joe Hence

He brought you things you knew about, yet you continue to do nothing to change them and voluntarily participate in the trap Kendrick warns about. Must be nice to be so naive.

      • mack

Participate in the trap ? I bet u smoke or drink huh. I do none of the above. The music u listen to does not define u nor does it make u do stupid shit. I retract that statement. It doesnt make strong minded ppl do the shit thats in the song.

    • cmack510

so what future is talking about is more important? lmao you niggas crack me up now days, i was def born in the wrong generation smh

      • mack

Never said it was more important. Before u comment read what i said. Nobody wants to hear what he was talking about coming through the speakers

    • JustKeepinIt

Dats folks problems the change is in yuh …if yur mind goes as far as repeating the same cycle there will never be change god said put forth effort if yuh don’t try and KEEP trying nothing will change or get better but hey I guess dats Wat yuh want to be #Nothing ….BTW I like and listen to both to each’s own

      • mack

I promise u im more educated on the things he talk about than u are an it dont come from listening to a damn song or cd at the end of the day nobody wants to hear that coming through they speakers.

        • JustKeepinIt

Well graduate from college with a bachelor degree own yur own business car house boat then still go back to school and them we can talk about education until then keep popping your mollies fucking yur random bitches and spazzing on people and see where yuh be judged by 12 or carried by 6 can’t take da heat get out the kitchen

  • WiseGuys Advice

No one wants to hear that political shit Kendrick be talking bout at a concert. They’d go to a protest rally for that. That’s why it sold as it did when it first came out. It was during that Michael Brown and Freddy Grey hype. But that shit don’t get no radio play, people don’t drive around bumping that shit, and it don’t make people dance.

    • Dom Brown

I bump it and can dance to it. ( I’m a dancer maybe that’s why)

    • Mikey

“They’d go to a protest rally for that.” 3rd dumbest thing Ive seen today.

      • Hugh Roller Jr.

Definitely THE dumbest thing I’ve seen today… IDIOTS

      • AT

“during that Michael Brown and Freddy Grey hype” is the dumbest thing I have seen today. Referring to people getting murdered by the police as “hype”. Future probably should have closed the show though. I love Kendrick and bump a lot of his older stuff in my car all the time but a lot of his newer stuff isn’t super upbeat. Its more jazzy and abstract. Plus the majority of people are probably always gonna be kind of dumb so you have to keep that in mind.

        • WiseGuys Advice

It was hype! They were hyped by social and news media to push an agenda. They weren’t innocent productive citizens. Neither of them would of went on to cure cancer, develop hyper drive, or bring world peace. Truth is, the life they lived caught up with them, point, blank, period!

          • AT

I will say that those particular stories may have been singled out when there are stories like that everyday but unless you are threatening an officers life or someone else you should never be killed. I don’t know either one of those people well to speak on what they could have done but I would say its safe to say that they probably had as little of a chance of doing those things as you do. So does that mean that its ok to kill you even when you aren’t posing a threat? What do you know about the life they lived. Do you know them personally or are you just going off what the Faux Tv reports said? I don’t personally know them so I can’t speak on the type of people they were but it is wrong for the police to kill someone unless they are threatening their life or someone else’s. Point, blank, period!

          • AT

You also can’t say for sure what people will do in the future. Malcom X was a street hustler before he became one of the biggest speaker of civil rights and if he wasn’t killed who knows what else he could have done for peace in America and possible the world.

          • No Drillas

            You sound stupid as fuck.

      • JustKeepinIt

        Lol so True

I take it the first two would be the use of “3rd” instead of “third” and “Ive” instead of “I’ve.”

Does corecting gramattical errors give you a boner?

          • WiseGuys Advice

Just when illiterate fucktard such as yourself are incapable of spelling CORRECTLY. It brightens my day helping special people.

          • jamie

“But that shit dont get no radio play”…. “it don’t make people dance”.. and you are correcting grammar?

Your sentences need way more help than any tutor could give you.. and they work with special ed children in gradeschool. How dare you and your inner city public school education of which you clearly never exceeded the third grade writing level ridicule others’ grammer when u can’t structure a sentence to complete a look-worthy application at McDonald’s. You are special! just another statistic acting way too cocky with no linguistic skills to back it up. Get a grammer-school tutor- then talk shit about people’s grammer. Not saying mine is perfect but I dont knock other people after I just used quadruple negatives… just the dickholes who try to correct others when they have no business even taking burger orders at a drive-thru window. “No i don’t want no damn fries with that.” — that probably sounded grammatically correct to you, right?

    • Kushcloud

Yu have no idea his.music makes yu dance it has a funk vibe it’s a more west coast thing I drive around and bump that shit it’s all about ignorance… Kendricks music isn’t down and slow it’s up tempo where people can dance to it but they cany the Quan and other dances people do

    • Kennedy Junnell Yarber

Ignorance such as this is why all the faggot rappers like young thugger the dick tugger and No Future are taking over the radio airwaves. That bullshit aint what the founders of the “ART” that is hip hop had in mind #SILLYRABBIT

    • daly

Where the fukkk is ur proof?

  • abe210

Sone of y’all talking like Kendrick is TRASH? GTFOH. I GUESS you can call Trap “party music” but that uncreative babble gets no play in anywhere I’m chillin. On this island KDOT is what gets all KINDS of ppl up out of their chairs. If this was the late 80’s it would be like you were dissing Public Enemy or Tribe or Rakim. You would be ostracized in a second. Like what you like but don’t diss creativity and musicianship. You look like a fucking idiot.

  • Alexander Thebasedgod

They’re putting him on after a bunch of trap artists. Really bad planning is what it is. Who the fuck wanna hear a bunch of conscious shit after turning up to Future? Like, come on now, he shouldn’t be going on last.

  • kinglobey

my ass would have left too

  • Steveregal

This is why hip hop is considered the regressing genre of music…

    • lakersnation86

I see what you’re trying to say, but no. No other genre is as dynamic! Please don’t say you listen to rock either because that genre has stagnated.

  • Steveregal

Kendrick sold out the Barclay’s…. His crowd isn’t the pill popping syrup Sippers with strippers for baby mommas… He’s for the brothas that recognize the struggle, not glorify being stuck in it

    • $B

The last part of your comment is real. The first is horribly inaccurate. I don’t do any of those drugs, have no baby mommas, and love future. That goes for almost all the niggas I know, many of whom are also ivy league students like myself. So FOH with that. Get off your high horse, you don’t deserve it.

      • Steveregal

You’re part of the problem… You don’t understand hip hop… One of those kids that peeked their head in the door and started nodding their head.. Your opinion really doesn’t count… Part of the destruction… Don’t get mad at me because what I said hit home, bruh…

        • $B

Actually you are the problem. You made two statements, I agreed with one and proved the other wrong. You on the other hand respond with claims you can’t substantiate at all. You also offer no attempt to educate the youth that you feel know nothing, despite your high horse. That’s why you don’t deserve it. The youth opinion also matters way more than you might think. So FOH once again.

          • Steveregal

Proved the other wrong? EVERYONE knows the destruction of hip hop comes mainly from wannabe hipsters like yourself that CLAIM to be for the culture… Like I said, YOU’RE part of the problem when it comes to the culture… There’s a difference between a hip hop head, and a rap Stan.. I’m communicating with the latter right now…

          • $B

I am not a hipster nor do I try to be. I rap and have an album dropping this year. If you don’t, then go make one instead of generalizing other artists fans and complaining about the state of the industry today. I also never mentioned the culture, at all…. I enjoy the music and make music, that’s all… See Vince staples conversation with Nore and then have fun on your crusade.

    • col892

You’re statement is very ignorant. Big Sean (who i would say “recognizes the struggle as well or whatever that’s supposed to mean) and Fetty Wap were also part of the lineup so the show wasn’t only for pill poppers and “syrup sippers”. And just cuz you’re a fan of Future’s music doesn’t mean you glorify being stuck in the struggle lol if that’s what you think this genre is about you’re all wrong. Who really glorifies being stuck in it?? Cmon now…

      • Steveregal

Your statement was all over the place… Try again

        • Rhythmic Ricence

Because trap music don’t glorify THOSE things, I guess is what he’s saying? Lmao sometimes all u can do is let the blind continue to dress fucked up #Saludo

    • No Drillas

      Salute your comment!!

    • Nick pearson

Just stop hating you don’t like future clearly dirty Sprite 2 is a good cd rather or not you like future

      • Steveregal

It’s an okay CD… great prediction, lyrics are trash… Which is what you kids seem to love… That’s not hate, that’s facts, young man…

  • herpa_derp

Kendrick is the “Future”, and Future will be the “Past”.

    • Johnny Boy

      Nice

  • The music they make is different and carry a different energy. Future trash and his music trash to me but people will go to the show for the energy. They need to really think about how they do the line up. Kendrick deserve better than the half the crowd leave but as an artist I say fuck the niggas that left let me put on a show for the real fans who stayed til the end.

  • KawantA

I think k dot is a bad pick to go last, with that jazz filled album its nearly impossible to try that after future gets everyone live. It’s not his fault it’s the promoters fault. Understanding k dot is great and deserves to go last, you still have to look at the performances themselves

  • Caleb Davis

Yall go see a nigga who don’t support his son that got mad when a real nigga take his place and didn’t support a kdot who got white people mad cause his music made movements that shook the new rooms. I can’t stand bitch made niggas who is unaware about themselves.times have really changed

    • Steveregal

      Couldn’t have said it better

    • Mikey

Thank god someone here has a brain.

    • Ned Flanders

is it bad that i like listening to Both ?

      • its ok to be multi-dimensional

      • DJCEO

Naw player, I listen to both of them, it’s just rap

      • Caleb Davis

Naw my ninja it ain’t. You have the right to support whoever you want to support.

    • DJCEO

How do you know this man doesn’t support his son?? Oh his hating ass baby momma said so, yea that’s original

      • Caleb Davis

You is one dumb ass nigga bruh. Its rare that a female tries to keep their child from their father . If she is why haven’t we not heard about future fighting for custody ect. but oh, we hear about him when a nigga stepped up to the plate on being a man by not only being a father but a family man also. Get outta here with that bullshit

        • DJCEO

Man stfu with your hating ass. Old simp ass nigga, Future take good care of his kids and I’m not guessing. Fuck nigga

          • Drew Mann

Agreed. Waka Flocka is a huge family man, and still is all about the southern trap hip hop style. Chief Keef talks about his daughter in every song. What these rappers SAY is, for the most part a bad representation of who they are. I’ve hung out with several rap artists, and they were all very normal. They put out what they like and what people buy, just like any genre of music.

          • Caleb Davis

so you fucking with future heavy on a daily basis to know he spends time with his son. you know Ciara as well to know that she is tripping and is using her child to make future mad. you was born pussy and dont know no better. get the fuck outta here with that he spends time with his son like you hang with this nigga. concerts and airports dont count bitch ass boi

          • DJCEO

No I don’t you stupid bitch. My cousin is best friends with one of his kids Mother, she says dis nigga does anything she ask him with in reason. No why can’t you see Ciara is just made cause they broke up, I hate simo ass niggas like you. I hope you catch aids and die you fucking simp ass bitch

          • Caleb Davis

Lol this nigga vouching for future because of what his cousin says and not knowing for himself. Boy you pussy and dumb. And I hate niggas like you who like to dick ride for a nigga he don’t know. If ciara was mad at future like you say then that nigga would be on child support day on of the split. Quit believing what you hear from your cuz cause as far as I’m concerned he could be a bitch nigga like you.

    • Youngmystery1

At 1st I didn’t understand future’s fustration with the other dude being in his sons life….until I thought Y a man would be upset, until I came to the conclusion that future wants Ciara bck…and he don’t want his son look at the other dude as a father figure. ..although it’s future fault because he chose not to be with her so he can’t dictate the way she chooses to live her life

      • Caleb Davis

Exactly bro . He should have respect her if that’s the case.

    • Herbz 4 Breakfast

This generation would rather listen to 2 Live Crew over 2pac. It’s a lost cause.

      • ilikemusic.

On fuckin point again my friend. It’s too much work and thinking for them to listen to Kendrick’s story over a few CDs and how it’s grown/taking shape.

    • ilikemusic.

Facts. I’m white. I love what Kendrick is doing. Sticking it to the whites in power. His fans (even the white ones) know exactly what he’s doing. The sad part is when the government eventually shoots him down like they did Pac everyone is gonna be like maaaaaan I miss Kendrick and his message. “If I’m tried in a court of law, if the industry cut me off, If the government want me dead, plant cocaine in my car. Would you judge me a drug kid or see me as K. Lamar, Or question my character and degrade me on every blog.”

  • Cali215grower

I feel this is pretty common if the bigger named soulful act is following brainless party beats. Is future also a producer? Cause folk seem to praise him like he’s making the party beats and mumbling over them too, and that he isn’t just a mumbler that works with really good producers that deserve credit.

    • lakersnation86

Man I say that all the time! People be like I listen to so and so CUZ their beats are dope. I’m like well he’s not a producer so he gets not props for that. Then there like he’s a good beat selector. Smh at that point I’m done!

  • 710Throwed420Blazed

Garbage is the new platinum. I ain’t buying though.

  • Jayrock

kendrick is wack..thats why.. JCOLE > All Artist

    • Niall

But of the current generation, isn’t Kendrick, J. Coles favourite rapper.
      Your favourite rappers, favourite rapper

  • Theo Phillips

This just let’s u know. M’C ing is a lost art Kendrick is what us ol skool hip hop head can listen to now adays. He’s not dumming down his lyrics or word play for this ignorant ass generation. U have to be kidding me I don’t no what u call this shit that these new so called rappers are making

  • Niall

We all know if Kendrick done a feature on any Future track, Future would get bodied and have no Future

  • lol idiots

  • Totally different audiences. Just saw K. Dot last night in ATL. It was an older, neo soulful, dirty backpack, but diverse crowd. I don’t see that crowd trying to go to any radio sponsored festival set with the kids. They’re more mature and would likely not have the patience for that type of crowd. Myself included. So with that being said, I can also see how that Future/radio fanbase ain’t in the mood for what amounts to a “turn down” when Kendrick hits the stage. I mean he has bangers that gets the crowd going, but for the most part you’re giving red wine and cigars rather than tequila shots and lean…

  • Charlz in charge

Kendrick Lemar fan base wouldn’t go to these type of events it obvious that’s the case. And also Future maybe bigger than record sales because his fan base doesn’t buy records they download.

  • Brett Burgundy

Not going to lie just based songs I have more future songs I like. Brainwashed no I just don’t like k.dot I really don’t like future but he makes a certain type of song. Kendrick can also like “vice city” but “I ” is not my shit I do love myself but I’d rather here I thought it was a drought. Even though it dosent make me feel good to fucc someone’s girl in Gucci flip flops the beat is nice. But I digress future is terrible.

  • noonoo390

Yea i was at the bk show i just think the crowd dident want to hear kendrick music because it wasent trap or songs to get turned to

  • damian harrell

It was dissapoining to see the kids (and even folks in my age range of 35) jet-set as Kendrick came on. It’s hard to comment on why without sounding offensive so I’ll remain mum but Im finding I need to distance myself from the trap brand so I don’t align myself with the simple-mindedness of the fanbase. #closettrapfan

  • Kymonte James

People are idiot’s..why wouldn’t you just stay to see the rest of the show regardless lol…I fuck with both artist heavy..happy that I’m not closed minded.

  • Dee Jay

I like Future as much as the next person, but he is one of the reasons people who don’t listen to Hip Hop or know much about it assume that it’s all about money, bitches and drugs. The same people calling Kendrick’s music “political bullshit” and supporting Future & his music are the same people who tend to show up on the news for being violently attacked by police or white people, then want to start rallies when it’s convenient. You “support” the movement with talk but not the folks that push the movement. There’s room for both types of music, but I really think it’s hilarious how both artists are perceived and supported by the black community in relation to all of the political and social occurrences here in the US.

  • Marcus Thomas

As if Kendrick ain’t bumpable at a party…or in the whip. Grew up on g-funk (whippin and partyin). Can’t get into codeine (lean) nor the southern wildness of the trap. Don’t forget the West helped to define smooth ridin’ music in the first place. To each his own. I thought that in order to rap you had to be able to TALK first. Can’t understand what some trap artists (like Gucci) are even saying half the time. Honestly. Just sayin’. Kendrick should probably just not tour with Future. I thought it was all Black music but evidently not. Who knows any more.

    • dhusu

Agreed. Kendrick should tour with other artists thats in a lane similar to his, like Joey badass or big KRIT etc.

  • Bee

But if people paid for the concert in general regardless of who performed first, doesn’t whoever performed get paid regardless? Soooo even if people left before Kendrick came out….he still got paid. Soooooooo……who really lost there?

  • AT

At the end of the day I am sure Kendrick would rather have a 1,000 real people that know whats up than have a 100,000 dumb ass fools that just want to dick ride the hottest thing. In 5 years Future will probably be doing some small clubs in the south and Kendrick will still be selling out shows all over the world. It will be like Tupac vs 2 live crew. Future and 2 live crew are cool but their music probably just won’t last as long as real music that is saying something.

  • EmceeChen

it’s probably just chicago. I mean they’re pretty into the drill scene up there which is kind of similar to trap. I mean lets be real k dot is one of the greatest. it’s just different styles for different people I guess. he goes to LA, guarantee everyone stays for him

  • grape_rello

look imma fan of both artist but tpab is not an album to perform on stage. its headphone music if Kendrick drop an album with all beats like future it would be great in the club/arenas. but it wouldn’t fit kdot so it wont happen.

  • col892

Wow some of you ppl are crazy man seriously. Even if you liked future and NOT kendrick some of yall act like ppl who’d prefer future are just inferior or something lol

  • Ye’

Quit all that times shit Kendrick fell off point blank if you think his last album was as good as his first you are delusional

    • Dee Jay

      It was better.

  • crookbythebook

Unlike Kendrick – Future has 65% + of the rap industry trying to sound like him. He is bigger than he’s given credit for. There has never ( and I mean NEVER ) been a rapper in HipHop history that has 65% + of all other rappers trying to bite his style. Say whatever you want – But that’s the facts

    • CJ Daniels

I don’t even listen to the radio any more, but you’re probably right, seeing as everything I hear on there sounds like horse crap. There was an era in time where Wayne was the most influential artist, but most of the hiphop industry probably couldn’t sound like wayne if they tried. Future is very easy to imitate. Wayne will always be better and more influential than Future.

  • coolio

definitely all niggs at the concert then LOL

  • Houstonguy713

DS2 and WATTBA was not a albums just mixtapes Kendrick Lamar took 10 years to put out that to pimp a butterfly shit and it was not good J.Cole album was way better

  • jahhhh b

Society hates independent thinking and consciousness… We like beats and Wats fashionable

  • ポケモントレーナー

They all went out to have fun and enjoy themselves not to get educated

I don’t blame them for leaving, Kendrick overhyped and overrated anyway

  • Vuitton, The Ruler

People today don’t know what Hip Hop is, if it isn’t about shit they don’t have (money, cars, women) and shit they don’t do (drugs, women, money) they don’t want anything to do with it. I remember the other day I was bumping Tupac’s “Ambitious As A Rider” and some guys (black) were looking at me as if I were playing Vanilla Ice. I was, like “fucka outta here.”

  • Jose Miguel Rodriguez Jr.

Future ain’t shit anyway. Future is the past, Kendrick is THE FUTURE!

  • Smiley Tobias

I don’t even like kendrick lamar like that but I still stood for his performance and he did pretty good. Future definitely turned up but it sucked that kendrick lamar was last. Everyone who goes to concerts know to kinda leave early so your not stuck in traffic walking out arenas and in your car! It’s not that he sucks or w.e because kendrick is really talented. It’s because mfs in Chicago don’t got the patience for all that traffic shit lol.

  • Rhymeschemin

at the end of the day theres more stupid people than smart, the sad reality. Don’t believe me check out the comment section on this website lol

  • Not his fault Chicago has bad taste.

  • Jay Vega Jackson

To be honest the people who go to big jam wouldn’t really appreciate Kendrick Lamar’s music. That’s like booking common or Lupe to preform at Adrianas, just not that type of crowd. They want to t up, not listen to music that’s going to make them consciously think.

  • dhusu

The only way Kendrick is gonna benefit from a tour like this is if he performs songs like Money Trees, Swimming Pool, Bitch Don’t Kill my vibe, Poetic justice. etc. ..i’m sorry but TPAB just doesn’t cut it for a crowd looking to get pumped up. Regardless of how many fans you got, they’re not gonna vibe out to most songs off TPAB. Especially if you got Future fans in the mix, overall bad setup. This is proof that mainstream hip hop flows one way only and it has to do with catchy beats and a whole lot of nonsensical lyrics.

    • Colisha Melinda

      He did perform those…

      • dhusu

Yeah, at the same time people wanna hear new stuff, i understand what it’s like to be a conscious rapper in this type of industry. new material for conscious rappers isn’t easy to make, especially when you have expectations riding on every release. unlike Future, a trap rapper who could put out a ton of records of nothing but the same shit in different order and people would replay for days regardless

    • CJ Daniels

Those songs still arent good enough for todays typical rap fan. Sorry.

      • dhusu

Unfortunately not, people too fucked up on Future and lil wayne to understand the message behind these songs.

  • CLOVER•

They set my mans up for failure

  • CrooklynGS9

both of these niggaz is bitchass niggaz b frfr

  • Jus Facts

    Well….His name issss,,,, FUTURE

  • Tekamia Cannon

I was at the Big Jam on Sunday and Ieft after Future performed simply because it was 10:30pm already and I had to drive 1 1/2 hr back home. If special guess would have performed after the announces performers then I would have gotten to see Kendrick and would have missed out on someone I didnt expect to be there. It was shocking to see many others leave too but maybe it was a similar reason as mines. However, we are talking about Chicago, home of the trap, hood, card cracking, ratchet as mfs. They didnt want to hear REAL GOOD MUSIC and thats why the left. #Kendrick I wish is had stayed.

  • Lys

People don’t want to be conscious about the things around them. especially after listening to future they get so hype they don’t what to get brought back down to earth.

  • Dat Real Nigga Gus

chicago is just a bunch of hood, dumb niggas. they don’t want to listen to any positive music with a story. all they want to listen to is catchy one liner songs with a good beat, chief keef, and dumb niggas that use autotune

  • Will Beatty

Just a bad concert match up. K Dot should not be on tour with these dudes. I’m in my 40’s. I rock with Kendrick Lamar but have no interest in any of the other artists on the ticket. I and many of my contemporaries would pay to see Kendrick, but not if we had to sit through Future and the rest of those dudes.

  • THe Real

This is more like “Trap” vs “lame nicca”
Kendrick has already did too many lame shit in the past and tries to cover it up with Super deep “lets stick together hiphop” as if that can change the fact u said u King of NY. Got dub on public tv
Says hes 4 the culture of hiphop but rocks skinny jeans OD. N your album nice for a train ride but not a concert or the clubs but thats the crowd u want money from F U kendrick go play in the house of blues thats your setting

    • Johnny Boy

Sad world we live in if you think Kendrick is a ”lame nicca”. Really? Gtfoh clown.

    • Craig WO

Agree, he actually caused it on himself when his ego came out the cage. New York already a hating ass place for out siders… shit even insiders (reason Puff wrote PHD Player Hater Degree) But by claiming he was King eith one published official album of New York well the word Ludacris came to mind… and New Yorkers don’t forget nothing plus they love hatin. Snoop might have to come through again and crush some buildings.

  • Romona Justlikecandy Fite

Maybe it was unaware he was in attendance especially so late.

  • Omf

new world order rap not hip hop Kendric lamar keep your head up we still love you anyway black people are haters

  • Jaicen

Its fuckn 12 am all of Future’s fan gotta go to school in 6hrs.

  • Aubrey Zanders

Point blank….if you support Future and think his music is real hip-hop, kill yourself.

  • Brandon Cummins KY859

the reason all the Future fans left is cuz after listenin to him for an hour and a half they have no chance in keepin up with Kendrick on a listening level cuz Kendrick can actually rap

  • Brandon Cummins KY859

this is whats going on in the rap game, if u think about it for real for real, Jeezy started the “turnt up trap beat” music if thats what u wanna call it, but see jeezy still had substance and meaning behind his lyrics cuz it was his story. Think about it, when Trap or Die and Streetz Iz Watchin came out and TM:101 that sound was unique and now that sound is what everybody wants to hear the only difference is now is that there is no heart or substance behind it at all, its all producer and autotune with some highass mother fucker singing weather it be Rich Homie Young Thug Fetty Wap or someone of that sort. Whether u want to admit it or not Jeezy changed the rap game but Jeezy is real and most of these new dudes are fake as a 3 dollar bill.

  • Mateo Fischer

    No surprise, future all day

  • Chad Lyons

I saw Kendrick Lamar on a bill with the Roots and NAS, not a single soul left the building. I think its possible the crowd at those shows wasn’t that conscious music type of ticket buyer.

  • Dom Susana

this ain’t a trap vs conscious thing. at OMF this year most people barely cared to see lauryn hill bring the house down for the finale. it’s simple – some people just no longer care for good music

  • Dom Susana

and no offense but lauryn is TWENTY TIMES the true essence – of – hip – hop icon that kendrick lamar is. if they don’t care about lauryn – what makes u think they will care about kendrick? it’s all shock value. #teamearth

  • Billy MtDaze Sendio

Fuck that im leaving when future come out then coming back for kendrick.

  • Just Los

this make sense though its about individual hits not about album sales

  • Carl Davis

If we keep up these POLITICS and BULLSHIT within our music and against our HIP HOP artist we going to loose HIP HOP just like we LOST R&B to Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber and “others” …its 2015 and “we” STILL dont know how to support each other…just DUMB SHIT !!!

  • If you can’t do Pre-Algebra you can’t comment on anything.

  • Joe Steed

This some gay shit! Its shit like this this why I hate people. These dumb asses bought tickets to see 1 artist perform. Foh wit the “I dont wanna hear consciousness after turning up” what the fuck we turning up for? Aint none of them niggas rich, aint none of them niggas free!! Mentally enslaved youths! Future literally calls himself a wizard! He castin spells on you dumb ass niggas and yall being lead like sheep. Ofcourse you dont wanna hear about what you shouldnt be doing and how negros can be productive after listening to some bullshit that tells you how not to be productive. Man yall need to listen to Kendricks for sale and how much a dollar cost. You got one artist performing the devils work and the other actually trying to lead his people to God. But look who we chose to listen to and support… These niggas is idiots and if you agree with them you a idiot too. Judgement day is real, God is real, Yashayah Christ is real! Yall better wake up real soon you children of isreal following dumb idols! All that turning up not goin get you into the kingdom! Yall better think twice about who and what you supporting in everything yall do. Fetty wap told yall he worship the devil, future says I know the devil is real……. yall niggas chose to remain blind and ignorant.

  • S1OneTime

I’m the biggest TDE fan I know, have seen both these dudes live, and support both their music, but with as much respect I have for Kendrick, I would never close with TPAB after DS2 or WATTBA, live, that just doesn’t make any goddamn sense. If it were my show I want you leaving on the highest note possible, I don’t blame any of these people for taking that upon themselves. The tweets just people trying to knock Kendrick down a peg because he’s winning.

  • Herbz 4 Breakfast

When I read these comments I see why they killed Biggie, 2pac, Pimp C, and others. You jack asses will vibe to any got damn thing. There is absolutely nothing positive about Future’s life or lyrics. #JesusWept

  • Peralta A. Christian

Whatever Kendrick doesn’t need them anyways , come back to Europe bro

  • King DeDeDe

That was stupid to put Kendrick after Future. Why would people want to turn down to Kendrick’s music after being turnt up to Future’s??? Bad move on the managment’s part.

  • john dungey

Not a good combination is all. It’s a miscommunication. You can’t have UP then low to end. I would want to stay away from each other when it comes to shows. Different lanes. Award shows maybe but I never saw fugees and no limit on the same show. I’ve seen fugees goody mob and the roots though. Jumping!

  • #Worklife

I think people can “turn up” to “King Kunta’ lol no?

  • Craig WO

K.Dot said he was the King. Remember? GUESS WHAT THE SHOW IS IN BROOKLYN. That is what you call a

  • Jay Lyrics

Those are the lost and maybe never found.

I personally can’t listen to Future on a real level but
it breaks my heart to see the direction hip hop is going
    now a days

  • Craig WO

And if ya’ll haven’t figured it out as yet. NONSENSE IS THE NEW IN! Really skilled rappers gotta wait for the nonsense to pass before they put their legit skills on a mic out. Ghostface Killah , it’s time for Supreme Clientele 2… please I can’t take non creativity anymore… currently nothing but FOLLOWERS and STYLE BITERS.

  • I FUCKS WITH BOTH KENDRICK AND FUTURE…KENDRICK SHOULDN’T OF EVEN BEEN ON THAT ROSTER..KENDRICK BELONGS ON ROSTERS WITH JAYZ,JCOLE,NAS,HOPSIN,AND OTHERS LIKE THAT…..COULD YOU PICTURE AN ALLIGATOR IN THE DESERT? NO…..

  • Craig WO

In regards to future… it’s definitely the Beat. Remember Eric B $ Rakim. Da Beat da beat da beat, da beat. Once that’s tight you usually win. And those beats are heavy. drums, bass heavy hypnotic- so atmospheric you don’t really need future mumbling bambling marble in the mouth words at all- a top rank loud mouth DJ hyping the crowd with those beats playing can get the crowd hype. Future rocks on beats that goes hard in SUVS, cars.. white out cars with black shoes'(black rims) Mayweather style TMT -Miami style Arizona style Donk style. Houston style. The beats knock heavy… people like flexing in their rides. I always believe as a rapper what is the point of spending time writing lyrics only the mumble them and not be as clear as Jay Z, Nas, Drake…. usually when your not a clear rapper you just got a chorus and mumble the rest of the song because the rapper doesn’t have deep thoughts and their rhyme skill level is below average.

  • Craig WO

Like Lupe says… ‘mediocre’ skill level making money nowadays is beyond mind blowing numb dumb. It’s impossible for intellectual listener’s of rap to make it through listening to an entire album by this gen. One song yeah maybe, but if you do get through the end of their album, you already got the rope and chair ready. Unreal how mind numbing the hottest supposedly music out now is. Ok… thoughts fly….. didn’t mean to ‘SAUCE ON YOU’…… freaking corney term. Holy crap batman. And ‘thirsty’ is for when you came back from a run and your body is craving water. The youth has destroyed another real ENGLISH word.

  • Craig WO

….one more…. and if Drake don’t stop giving us a 5th grade young girl secret love diary raps! Gotta be kidding me. OH my Jesus! I just want him to just get serious and give us a killer rhyming album because dude can rhyme, but no, he continues to fry our brains with 5th grade lyrics. any more of his young girl diary raps….. gonna have to sick troubled DMX after him.

  • Craig WO

But I understand, I’M OLD ITS OVER for my gen- , Drake has to teach the kids all over again because they failed the first time, so he has to recite the A,B,C,G,E,F,Z for them again.

  • Craig WO

..one more and listening to K.Dot. Thats like failing Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. What did he say? Spend your entire listening session trying to find the lyrics to make sure he’s rapping logical thoughts and sentences make sense. Blah.

  • Craig WO

ok so you wanna know who of this generation is putting out good albums-ALBUMS not one hit songs? The youngin to me that came creative with it is ASAP(just lose the (man skirts..old timer can’t respect that if your not Irish) and believe it or not Rozay gave us solid albums, dude has incredible sound producer’s, as much as I like ‘Diced Pineapples’ etc… it’s really hard to blast Rozay out my car because the cunnery’ of stealing a real-still living’ drug dealers name and persona… is unreal to me. But as much as I think he makes incredible sounding albums that stigma is still there. He outta just use his real name or Rozay but drop the Rick Ross and cut out the drug shipment from colombia moving kilos through miami lyrics, because the feds would have been on him from the first album already. Fantasy of the mind is demented. Thoughts fly this morning. too early for that 5 hour energy…holy shit I’m flying.

  • Hiphopds

Majority of the young generation dont wanna do nothing but turn up, shoot niggas, have sex with strangers, and work at a factory. Lol serious but not serious. People not conscious or interested in real world issues. Its more materialistic. So if its not about money and designers they dont want to hear it either. Sad generation. I hope this dont discourage Kendrick from staying true to himself.

  • Craig WO

… getting back to K.Dot. Man I remember being at Madison Square Garden decade ago… freaking Bone Thugs N Harmony came on last. Sisqo, Puffy all that shit was going done before them, well New York as usual was hating…. Bone came out tried to give a soecial effects show with stage smoke and coffins and all that help a act shit. Nothing worked. I have never heard such boo in my life, you thought the knicks was lising to MJ again and Starks went 0 for 25!

  • Craig WO

It was just a bad mix of artist. That’s like putting De La Soul with NWA with De La Soul coming after… F The Police!. ying and yang acts… two different crowds.

  • Craig WO

you can’t rap Ring Ring Hey How ya doing after F Da Police.

  • Josh Rose

Either way the get paid from the cd vs the tickets to the show its not losing weight on their pockets .. future n k.dot is both still in their altimis prime mode transforming the music while blasting to bank note by note taking the stage

  • Focused

Kendricks fans have their shit together and focused on life don’t go out. Don’t have time or money for concerts. Futures fans living in the moment partying turning up going out n shit

  • Alex Rizkalla

None of these are real artists. This article is 100%the system.

  • StreetColumnist

To be perfectly honest, from a management standpoint or marketing standpoint, I have no idea who arranged these two do a concert together, and to link them next to each other in performances. That makes no sense. That person should be fired!

    • CJ Daniels

      It was very bad marketing.

  • GUNSMOKE456

Ni99as want that turn up, when they go to a concert! !!
    No disrespect to Kedrick!!

  • Teddy Mac

I stayed at the show in Chicago and a lot of people did KDot had a better performance than everybody…… And I got all future albums ….I’m jus being honest

  • CHOPPITO BSE

Its about performance…when I go to a concert I wanna have a gud time n vibe n b in the moment n enjoy life I Dnt want to have a lesson on consciousness or here what’s politically correct…..in school yes not on my free time when I’m tryna turn up…..I hear consciousness 85% of the day can I have 15% trap to unwind n be free lol but future concerts always like that its not about kendrick Lamar BC that happened at birthday bash too after future left the crowd left n kanye was next its just future fans listen to a certain type of music n if the artist that’s next not on same vibe the fans are gone lol

  • Gzuz

Kendrick’s show last night in new Orleans was one of the greatest performances I’ve ever seen. The crowd was non stop with cheering and applause through the entire hour and a half extended set. He struggled to hold back his emotions from the great acceptance. His fans now he’s great and he shared it’s them he’s grateful for.

  • Wintersoldier7020

Considering the price of concert tickets these days, I’d like to know who these boss mufuckas are that can just afford to walkout. I don’t care if Slim Jesus was next to hit the stage…I paid, I’m staying.

  • Charlie Goggles

    DUMB’n down is whats popular!

  • Khari Barrow

Kdot is too intimate. Too deep. My nigga is the realest, but he don’t fit in the club. That’s the nigga you listen to when your all by yourself trying to figure out how to get your shit together. The nigga who have you thinkin about shit you’d be embarassed to admit out loud. That ain’t his fault, that’s the tour manager, DJ, or whoever the fuck is controlling the order of performers needs to have my nigg in an earlier slot, and let future close out. Out of Fetty, Sean, KDot, Meek, and Future… I would start with Meek (get him out the way), then Sean (set the mellow), then KDot(reinforce the mellow), then Fetty (turnup), close Future (TURN UP). Set the tone for the afterparty real nice, and no matter how drunk you are you gonna fuck around end up in a conversation about your favorite KDot song, and how that nigga was raw as fuck on stage cuz everybody was still sober enough to appreciate that shit. Then again, traffic is a muthafucka and niggaz do be tryna beat that gridlock. plus Kdot proly don’t attract broads like that. He proly get solid, high-quality women all day long, but the girls who just tryna fuck a star know they got a better shot with futures crew than they do Top Dawg. The men then follow these girls hopin to be that plan B for tonight. You look up and half the crowd is gone. shit go down like that, but this whole thing ain’t on Kdot. The DJ or whoever it is just don’t what the fuck he doin.

  • Mike

It just goes to show u the south got it on lock rite now the east and the west coast had there shine PAC and big days yea Kendricks good but he ain’t poppin in the south

  • Obviously Kendrick is the most boring performance I’ve seen after Wale. Why would anyone want to turn up to that shit after a stressfull week in school or work?

    • CJ Daniels

How is turning up a remedy for stress? SMH.

  • Doe444

Kendrick is on tour with the wrong people… truthfully. Kendrick is in a class of his own and should only tour by himself or it should be a TDE only tour. Musically… he sits above the rest… his material isn’t exactly made for the fans that favor an artist of the likes of Future… The message from both artist clash as well. Dirty Sprite …. I Love Myself??? Kendrick shouldn’t feel bad… because the same thing would happen to J.Cole too or even Nas. Same thing happen to Outkast at Cochella when this generation didn’t really know who they was or even identify with their music other than “Hey Ya”. Yet… he should hurry up and get off of that tour quick. Only people he should be touring with other than his camp is Kanye or Common or something. A crowd that has an appreciation for the ART and not just for the common everyday JAM… performed live.

  • CJ Daniels

That’s funny. Kendrick is the only only Mainstream hiphop I ever listen to for real. No wonder I don’t understand other tasteless rap fans.

  • UdonNo

KENDRICKS BARS GOT TOO MANY LYRICS, MAKING NGGAS HEADS DIZZY. TODAYS GENERATION DONT HAVE THE ROOM IN THEY BRAIN FOR THAT. WITH FUTURE, YOU DONT HAVE TO THINK , JUST TWERK.

  • Nick pearson

Get off lendricks nuts all you dudes he is okay at best people act like he’s the God of hip hop he’s not that lyrical and makes okay music at best he just talks and raps about race and other issues not talked about tpab was okay huge letdown

  • Derrick DeLosSantos

I grew in the 90s during the golden era & I can deff say people don’t respect artists for the true nature of what hip hop/rap really was. Like I prefer Kendrick over Future anyday, because being in that 90s era you heard artists experimenting on all levels of beats (creativity) & lyricism (meaning). And the more creative you were with your beats and lyrics you are respected more. Such artist as: Biggie, Pharcyde, A Tribe Called Quest, 2pac, DJ Quik, Masta Ace, etc. And even underground artists on the come up, such as: Phora, QuEST, Young Roddy, Dre Polo, Clear Soul Forces, Kooley High, etc. The people have changed with the times & it shows how music has dropped in its fundamentals & evolution to better what we perceive as music!

  • simondimes

This surprises who? Ignorant ABC dumb rap vs passionate provocative rap. That’s exactly what the masters wanted

  • james wigan

  • KINGSED

This generation wants mumble (Mumra) rap and ad-libs w/ redundant ass trap beats and weak hooks. These young niggaz out here don’t wanna hear no bars. Rap is all fucked up now. It’s just all about the wave of the beat and whateva idiot ass ignorant half a hook Future is spittin. Future can rap, but K- Dot can lyrically run Saturn rings around Future. I just think a nigga gotta be talkin bout trappin & ballin’ to get ANY kind of respect in the game now. They really don’t give a fuck about talent.
