Rapper Got Visit From Secret Service After Dissing Donald Trump
Renizance took his shot at The Donald with the summer of 2016 track ‘Trump Dies.’
Perhaps it was the blunt title, but the Texas rapper says he soon got a visit from the Secret Service.
“What happened was somebody in L.A. called into the authorities said the song and the video was a threat on Trump’s life, so the authorities in L.A. called into the Secret Service in Washington,” Renizance explained on the Murder Master Music Show.
“They asked me a whole lot of fuckin’ questions and basically wanted to know if I was crazy enough to do all this shit … At the end of the interview they asked me I have I ever thought of really going through with harming the President. Even to try to attempt something like that you are a dumb ass. I told them ‘Honestly, I’m not stupid enough to try to do that’ … I don’t like the guy … it is basically artistic expression.”
Although the process had him worried, the agents ended up recognizing his protest as artistic expression and nothing further.
“Initially I didn’t know what the fuck was about to go down … You read a lot of stories with laws for Homeland Security. There is laws in place that they can detain you indefinitely … That was the first thing that was crossing my mind. I met up with them and luckily for me it didn’t turn out that way. They understood that I was just an artist expressing myself. I’m glad for the fact that it didn’t go any further.”
YG also says he got heat from the Secret Service after dropping his diss track, Fuck Donald Trump.
