I just dont get the point of him sending these tweets to her…Like what was he trying to tell her..If he was trying to make a point it was a VERY passive aggressive point..

  • Lamont Cherry

people like you entice arguing and try to split people he clearly said what he was tryiing to do, if your ignorant little brain cant comprehend, then my mistakes i apologize for your mishaps and I for not recognizing them sooner…..(FAKE PROFILES ARE THE WORST IN MEDIA)

    • Frank White

and I asked what was his point behind doing this..? You’re anger is unnecessary is only shows that you have some personal issues that you need to work out, don’t take you’re miserable life out on me please.

      • Mo Stays Blessed Lawal

Qtip stated his reason backed it up with facts and was completely cordial with the conversation. There’s nothing more to it. Asking why the man responded is completely irrelevant and shows poor depth on your part when reading this.

        • Frank White

no the author said he was trying to give her perspective on her appropriating he never not once made a point to that…instead he gave her a history of rap that is irrelevant because it doesn’t mean nothing today…Look at all the rappers who just rap about bullshit, like money, cars, drugs, hoes, and clothes…He needs to teach them if anything…the fuck outta here..I don’t even like Iggy and I know yall trippin over her for bitterness

          • Mo Stays Blessed Lawal

No bitterness here. But not all rap music is senseless. Take for example j Cole. Album is a definition of a true artist rapping about substance. But I digress, q tip is just schooling her about a genre she is involved with. But the real question is : who are you to question his intention? Everyone wants to be a critic but don’t know how to constructively criticize.

          • Frank White

He put it out on twitter for the public to see…if he didn’t want to be criticized then he should have DM’d her. And I’m questioning his intentions because all this criticism of Iggy is essentially just black people feeling like they’re owed something. And i wish i could i have put that in better words but ultimately that’s what it is. Black people don’t own rap music…there’s not a rule book to it. It’s not a science…it’s an art. And everyone should be allowed to partake in it no matter the color of their skin. Thats just some bullshit…black ppl can be just as racist as white. And I’m willing to hear you out but so far I haven’t heard anyone explain why they get upset at Iggy without coming off as a racist or hater themselves

          • Mo Stays Blessed Lawal

I wouldn’t say black people own rap but why is it that when black people create a genre or trend others follow without knowing the history on how it became a trend? Rap is poetry… So people just write and articulate better than others.
As for black people being more racist…. Uh we have become a product of our environment. You will never know the struggle they go through everyday life. White people are privileged and thats just a fact. This is not categorization of all black people or white people either but it’s the truth. I can walk down the street of downtown Chicago with a suit and still receive a dirty look from other races. No matter how much you can argue that’s immoral and wrong. But honestly which one would you rather have a person tell you they don’t like you or someone to smile in your face But do other things behind your back????? In my opinion, that’s the difference between a black racist and and a white one!

          • Frank White

To tell the truth I’m actually black so i understand and also why is it such a bad thing about people wanting to be like us.? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery my dude. And poetry started by the white man because slaves didn’t even know how to read so to say rap is poetry is to say it evolved from the white man..so what is it exactly that makes you upset about Iggy or my post in generally.?

          • Mo Stays Blessed Lawal

Not upset bbecause I’m not quick to anger. I’m just engaging you in intellectual conversation. And in my opinion, Poetry wasn’t started by the white man. It was started as a way to express one’s self in rhyme and rhythm. Won’t say who started poetry because I don’t know who did but I can tell you that white people have tokened the word though. Iggy is rather irrelevant to the conversation but the main subject would be : Why are you mad at qtip for his opinions?

          • Frank White

I mean what edgar alan poe did was called poetry. Shakespere is poetry all that is documented you know so i don’t get how white people didn’t start poetry..and I’m not mad at qtip I’m just confused as to why black people in general are mad at Iggy about “appropriating black culture” which i personally think is utter bullshit…and that’s why don’t feel his comments are necessary. They don’t prove anything or promote change…

          • Mo Stays Blessed Lawal

Yeah that’s poetry but they got it from someone else. They just have documentation for their works of art. I’m sure they weren’t the originators of the craft but who knows. As for qtip, there’s nothing wrong with “appropriating” Anything. Why? Some people jump into things without understanding the culture or craft yet feel the necessity to be the best of or include themselves in something that they have no idea of what they are involved in.

          • Frank White

I’m not saying they were the originators but it’s furthering my point that black people weren’t the originators of poetry..so that would make them appropriators especially if they don’t acknowledge where they got rapping from. and if there nothing wrong with appropriating then there should be know problem. and your last point personally I think that’s just you being in your feelings because it ultimately doesn’t matter…Just about every rapper claims they’re the best but it’s SUBJECTIVE..nobody can be the best because again music is SUBJECTIVE…this wouldn’t be a problem if she wasn’t white either and you know it….this is just a bunch of black people being racist but they don’t think it’s possible to be racist..it’s a double standard of life

          • ok then

if you want to get REALLY technical english is a white language is it not?

          • truth

u a so full of shit…no way u are black…u are as black as that 2014 female version of vanilla ice (ugly australia) “poetry started by the whit man” are u for fuckin real? poetry existed tens of thousands of years before the white man existed…talking bout slavery as if it was the beginning of black culture….go find ur own culture u luck-lusture sad individual who can’t even declare his own ethnicity while hiding behind a keyboard…leave rap alone cause u clearly have no understanding

          • Frank White

I’m sorry you have so much hate in your bones sir, but please show me where poetry existed before the white man. Show me this proof and don’t just talk out of your ass to argue….cuz you sound like a troll

          • truth

hahahaha what happened to the post that i originally replied to…u know the one where u claim your black??? u are sad, u are a sad fuck boi… u show me proof the white man invented poetry fuck boi… the saddest thing bout a fuck boi like u is u have lost ur identity even tho it wasn’t stolen from u… do u know what rich honkies who know their history call u frank white? • Frank White

It’s really pointless to talk to you because you seem to have the vocabulary of a special ed middle schooler. And I can’t post websites on here but if you search it yourself by putting it into Google, which apparently you haven’t heard of, then you would find out that Greeks invented it. Now go do a little research and stop being an internet troll. And find someone to give you a hug and let all that anger you have out.

          • Anonymous

I think we learned in history class that Africans enslaved and sold their own people to slave traders in order to make some money.. So blame yourselves for selling each other into slavery. Africans are just as guilty of slavery as any other race. A matter of fact they still have slaves in Africa. But i guess uneducated people don’t know these facts. Maybe you should of stayed in school and you would learn real facts.

          • Chakratone

Black people don’t own rap music? We created it. And white people were trying to “OWN” everything. White people shouldn’t have owned slaves – like you said, there’s not a rule book to it. White people shouldn’t have segregated schools and labeled things like water fountains “colored only” – They didn’t own the water that was already given to everyone Rap doesn’t have to be in a rule book, a law or science. Everyone (black, white, etc) should have been allowed to partake in anything (Rosa Parks buss situation). I’m only coming at you how you wrote your comment. And these thoughts came to mind.

          • Frank White

I’m not 100% sure what point you were trying to make, but bas3d off you’re first sentence if that’s the case then white people created basketball…so do they own it..? They created football..do they own it.? And look at what blacks had to go through to overcome all the hate and racism to be accepted into those sports. Now how does it look now when black people do the same to iggy..? You may say it’s deserved but it’s still the same thing the white man did..

  • Antonio Banderas

Disappointed in Q, understand he was trying to educate, but this is Iggy. who gives a fuck…

    • Frank White

  • Ripshot de la Culebra

I’ve never heard her music. She doesn’t care about the genre. She only cares about making money. Let’s move forward.
