It Looks Like The Public Has Sided With Taylor Swift Over Kimye
Last week, Kim Kardashian leaked a phone conversation between Kanye West and Taylor Swift in which they discuss ‘Ye’s track ‘Famous’ before it was released.
Swift had denied such a conversation took place, and had whined about being blindsided by the line “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ I made that bitch famous.”
On the one hand, this was yet another example of Swift as a calculating operator who loves to play the victim.
On the other hand, the recording KK released was heavily edited, and at no point in the recording does Swift approve the “I made that bitch famous” part of the line — which is really what she had been objecting to.
BuzzFeed got Morning Consult, a firm that does political polls, to get a representative sample of Americans to weigh on on the Swift vs. Kimye feud.
Here is what they found:
75% of the people polled had heard of the whole feud at least somewhat – this was a big deal! Even old people knew about it! This was huge news!
And in general, people like Taylor Swift waaaaay more than they like the Kardashian Wests. 55% of people felt favorably about Taylor, but only Kayne only had a 15% favorable rating and Kim only 16%.
When they asked who you sided with in the feud, here’s what they found:
34% side with Taylor
8% side with Kim and Kayne
58% don’t know/no opinion
We can draw two conclusions from this:
First, Twitter — which clearly favored Kimye over Taylor — isn’t real life.
Second, Kanye has a lot of work to do if he really wants to run for President in 2020.
The 26-year old Swift won’t be eligible to run for President until 2024.
