The dedication 3 and the Carter 3 mixtape that dropped before the Carter 3 might have been better but those are just classic mixtapes the Carter 3 was a different vibe and thats when u could fully see a change in wayne… definitely a classic album. U can be high and know that… ak must be on sum new drug

    • JJW492

      D3 dropped after Carter 3

    • Myleage

not a classic, just a good album. Carter 2 was classic

    • kushxchevys

      Draught 3**^

      • just another white nigga

drought 3 was before C2 i believe. one of the coldest tapes EVER. two discs of straight fire.

        • kushxchevys

Nigga im correcting him up there he said dedicatiom 3 was b4 c3 no it was draught 3

    • just another white nigga

a change for the worse real talk. wayne fell off for a sec. happens to the best of em. he was tryin to impress hov so he made a east coast soundin album. still a goat.

  • Robert Williams

I agree with the cornball for once….first 2 Carter’s are classics!

  • BIG DOGG SAVAGE

C3 WAS GARBAGE C1 & C2 WAS CLASSIC ONLY BECAUSE GILLIE DA KID WROTE THEM FUCK DRAG FIEND FAGGOT ASS WAYNE WACK ASS

    • just another white nigga

gillie a beast. a fuckin cyborg.

  • Gr8ness

Classic is a word that’s get thrown around way too fucking much. To me a classic is a album with no skippable tracks point blank. I can’t call c3 a classic and really c2 was better.

    • Rome

Carter 2 can be better but I like 3 and 1 as well as 2 but less than them 2. With that said 3 is a classic it just happened to be commercial

      • Gr8ness

I think c2 is better lyrically than c3 but in the same breath c3 wasn’t wack. To me it hasn’t aged as well as c2 or c1 for that matter. It’s Wayne thriller basically. Depending on who you talk to people will say thriller wasn’t mj’s best album but it was the one that took him to the next level. That’s what c3 is to Wayne.

    • roland333

Exactly. Classic gets tossed around like nothing. Illmatic, reasonable doubt, wu forever, aquemini, hell on earth, ready to die, Cuban links those shits are classics Carter can’t even be mentioned with true classics

      • Ye’

        Reasonable doubt has skipable tracks

        • just another white nigga

everyone has different tastes. i hear mfs say BPIII was hovs worst, i think its his best.

          • TKingLives

BP3 Was great but when he said “Half Man Half Mammal.” I had a severe headshake.

          • just another white nigga

haha i thought that too cuz. i cut him some slack because nobodys perfect, and hes a multi millionare drop out crack dealer who gets to fuck beyonce. so thats his one pass lol

          • TKingLives

            Hahahaha, trutruuu.

        • Johnny Digits

          Not to me

    • just another white nigga

took the words out my mouth. alot of bullshit on C3. experimentin w new sounds n flows n personally i wasnt into it.

  • Skeazaleo The Don

    He’s right

  • fonzo517

c3 is when wayne went from being a great rapper to becoming a pop icon. not saying thats a bad thing but lollipop was wayne’s first major crossover hit to where it wasn’t only rap fans that were playing it. however i consider a classic album being one that you can/want to go back and listen to years/decades later and having it still be as good now as it was then and i don’t feel that way about c3. i can do that with c1 c2, dedication mixtapes, drought mixtapes, but c3 is dated to me now and has no replay value today.

    • just another white nigga

i think go dj is when he made the jump to mainstream. that shit was everywhere.

      • just another white nigga

aww fuck now i gotta bump that shit

  • LatarionMilton

First time agreeing with him. C3 was a great album, pretty much Wayne’s first pop album, and when “the world” took him serious as one of the top rappers. But C3 ain’t touching C1 or C2, those are classics.

    • Rome

But lollipop was like the only “pop” song tho

    • Craig

right the first Carter was a classic I ain’t really fuck with 2 all like that and 3 had some hard ass tracks like blunt blowin but it was just good. Basically after no mannie fresh no more classics.

      • ToneM0NTANA

Blunt blowin was on C4 bro

        • Craig

Hmmm damn I guess I fucked with C4 and can’t really remember much of 3…i used to smoke too much back in the day that shit all runs together on me at times.

  • Allen Smith

Niggas are so lost these days…. you shouldn’t be allowed to talk hip hop if You are saying C3 ain’t a classic…. is the black album not a classic because you like the blueprint better….. it was so good that I think a lot of people played it out, people are so forgetful

  • ben

C1 and C2 two of the best albums in hip hop history, C3 trash tho, like 5 good songs outta 16, that aint close to classic

    • Myleage

bitch im the bomb like tick, tick I GET MONEY. AND THROW IT.

  • IDNTGIVAFUKBOUTNOTHING

“The Carter” was better but they’re both Classics.

  • jurassicjrod

any discussion that starts with “DJ Akademiks….” and you’ve lost all credibility

  • kushxchevys

    Lpl this niggas off it

Thats my favorite album of all time really

  • Johnathan Dough

    C4 > C3 tbh

    • kushxchevys

      No johhny no!!!!!

  • smith jones

Uhhh I guess Wayne aint in my top 30.. so idk. Good read though

  • TKingLives

Carter 2 is a certified classic nobody is arguing about that. I can listen to every song straight through, the album is more lyrical and i feel like its put together much better. The fact that people are openly debating 3 so much is almost proof enough its not a classic. For me at the age i was that album will always be special to me as I followed everything Weezy related and the anticipation and hype was at a new high for him but to me i don’t feel it deserves the “classic” stamp. That’s the great thing about music it can mean something different to each and everyone of us and whats classic to some isn’t for everybody.

  • Dvillain.

    Classic

  • kushxchevys

I aint even tryna get started on this thread lol fuck ak

    • Herbz 4 Breakfast

Mane what?! The comments… It would take an essay to point out the wrong in some of these comments and I’m much too high for that right now. Fuck Akademics

      • kushxchevys

        Thats what im saying lol

        • NYCityKid

          C3 is not a classic

          • kushxchevys

            Lol k kid

      • NYCityKid

        C3 is not a classic

        • Herbz 4 Breakfast

I hate to burst your bubble but compared to the constant stream of shit music coming out, it’s definitely a classic. Not my favorite Wayne project by far but still classic. Give me Carter 3 over Luv Is Rage, any day of the week. Matter of fact, you right. It isn’t classic….IT’S MOTHER FUCKIN LEGENDARY

          • NYCityKid

            X. That’s not a criteria for a classic.

  • TKingLives

    FWA>C3>C4

    • Herbz 4 Breakfast

I agree with this. The Free Weezy album was fire

  • kushxchevys

I can play both albums back 2 back my niga lol

  • Frank White

Shit is subjective. What’s a classic to mr may not be to others. I think Hcnace The Rappers “Acid Rap” was a classic but hr thinks “Coloring Book” is better. To each their own.

P.S. pretty sure “A Milli” males that album a classic by itself ha

  • Je’sus

C2 the better rap album but overall c3 as a body of work

  • Caleb Davis

Not a classic. Good album but not classic. Cant weigh in if you were not a fan since the block is hot album. Remember when niggas didnt even like lil wayne and back in the day he had more lyrical content then he does now. C3 is not over the suffix or prefix mixtape

    • just another white nigga

he was all over them bg n juvie tapes too. killin it without any credit.

      • Caleb Davis

Bro lil wayne wasnt as good as b.g and juvie back in the day either. He was dope but he didnt get them killer beat from mannie until after they split up. The only song he really had jumping back in the day was the block is hot. Then the when the carter 1 dropped, the rest was history

  • Ye’

    Classic

  • Ye’

You can’t say c3 ain’t a classic because of his other work compare him to other artist don’t compare him to his self that just shows that he is a fucking legend

  • Triple O

    1. Carter I
    2. Carter III
    3. Carter II

  • Harold Tallmoney Washington

    Carter2 Classic … Full stop

  • TKingLives

I know that’s heavily debatable haha but I really liked the Free Weezy Album.

    • LatarionMilton

Na man you’re definitely entitled to your opinion I just didn’t know anybody liked FWA like that. I tried to like but just couldn’t get into it.

      • TKingLives

Yeah most people don’t agree with me but i gave it a ton of listens and FWA to me was a huge changing point for Wayne he actually talked about his personal life a lot on that album and its one i can listen to straight through I think its really underrated because it was a Tidal exclusive.

        • LatarionMilton

U know what. I just went back and listened to this album just cause you brought it up and I don’t know why I didn’t like this album when it first dropped. This shit is hard lol. Thanks bruh

          • TKingLives

Yeah man haha, i got stoned last night as i was reading everyone’s arguments and i was like fuck i haven’t listened to FWA in a while and i listened to the whole thing and he really fucking goes in on it haha. Underrated album for sure.

  • Trip6

huge lil wayne’ fan since high school back in 06-07. The carter 3 was a disappointment when it came out but i still rocked with it. Not a classic imo. Fyi.. I think akademiks is trash, but i agree with everything homie says here.

  • Johnny Digits

I think its def a classic. Like others said it took him to a whole new level….goddamn that was such a great era to be a hip hop fan i tell ya….all the hype, the tapes, the roll-outs, everything it was so much better IMO than right now!!! Bumping drought 3 now

  • ToneM0NTANA

So C3 not a classic album now? “3 peat, mr.carter, a milli, mrs.officer, let the beat build, lollipop, playing with fire”. The fuck else was yall listening to when Carter 3 dropped?

  • Carter 3 isn’t a classic it’s just when Wayne got a lot of his younger fans

  • vapaperboi .

i think the carter 1 the best damn album..whats better than i think it was track 4..birdman jr..bm jr..murdered that shit,..the whole album..go dj classic single..carter 2 is next carter 3 was good but not like the other 2

  • Poopmaster

Dude weezy a classic period. Hip hop royalty, nothing else matter.
